I am trying to find out why my g.g.grandfather Thomas Sheward moved to Harrow on the Hill in the 1810's and where Hogarth Lane is. Thomas was a plumber, but connected to the horse-dealing/horse racing Shewards. His cousin owned a racehorse at Epsom/Derby.

Researching the Dixon family. Moved to Harrow about 1820-1830. Isaac Dixon and wife Ann Elvee lived a 6 Victoria Terrace where Issac was a farmer and cowkeeper. His sons expanded it into a carrier and milk delivery business. Isaac d 1843 and Ann also d 1843 had Matilda 1805-6, Adeline 1806-7, Jane 1807- md John Barnes, Clarissa 1809- md George Dutton, Matilda 1810-, Adeline 1811-1890 md George Turner, Eliza 1813-1843 and Alfred John 1815-1878. Born Plymouth Oct 1866,in 1901 census she is cook in household of a clergyman and Harrow School Master at 203 Byron Hill.Later at Birklands Girls School, St. Albans, Herts, where she died, Jan. 1928 She was said to have had a good singing voice and to have been a friend of a family named Shuler or Schuler who had a jeweller's shop in Harrow (High Road?) and had two daughters who were pupils at Birklands.Any information, please?

Eva Eliza Guilddford was born in Harrow in 1876 and in 1901 was living in West St. with her father Thomas Wm. Guildford, sister Elizabeth Guildford and brother George Guildford. Her mother was Hannah Horrod from Pinner. About 1904 she left (eloped?) with Edward Roberts (aka Robert Thorpe) and came to Canada. In 1911 she returned to England and then when on to Australia. I am her granddaughter and would like to hear more of this story. Any connections?

I would like to know the whereabouts of this lady, born c1929 in either Plymouth or Bristol, last heard she was in Harrow-on-the-Hill in the 1980s. I am her second cousin, and have written a life of her brother Ernest James Richards (aka Jim Adams,born 1924 & kia 1944, RAFVR). I would like her to have a copy.
