MARRABLE and buckle factories
My Grandfather William George MARRABLE lived in Harlington for a while in the 1920's and was a cost accountant at a Buckle Manufacturers at the time of one of his sons (Allan) birth. Any information either about Marrables or buckle manufacturers in Harlington would be gratefully received.
red mail Morris Pearse & Morris Mitchell
My ancestor (5 generations back) was 'James Morris of Harlington (dob circa 1775)' a farmer at Harlington and he also carried out business as a cheese monger/tea merchant/butcher of No 7 Mary-le-Bone and was married to Frances Pearse of Heston. His son Daniel James Morris of Harlington (dob circa 1806) left England with his spouse (Jane Mitchell of Maidstone Kent) in 1842 bound for Victoria Australia and Tasmania with their family some of which later settled in New Zealand. Any assistance or information as to why they may have decided to leave Harlington and farming at that time would be a great help or any direction or contacts to be able to learn of any change of ecomomics, circumstance or culture that would motivate a family to move to the other side of the world. (We understand they were not shipped out by order of the crown - as many were!) I would be interested to learn more of the life at the time of James Morris at or around Harlington around 1775 and up until 1842
