Doe's anybody remember The Collins Family who lived in Chiswick, Middx there names were:- Charles Collins DOB 1859 he married Martha Gurney DOB 1861 they had 8 children:- Elizabeth(lizzie) DOB1896, Thomas DOB 1908, Harry DOB 1898, Frank DOB 1902, Jessie DOB 1900, MaryDOB 1907, and John DOB unknown.They all lived in Hogarth Lane, Middx Elizabeth Collins was my Grandmother she had a child in The Workhouse called Barbara father unknown but Elizabeth married a John Henry Mardlin. Harry was in WW1 and died on The Flanders Fields.

John Cotton and his wife, Sarah, nee Denn(e)y, lived in Chiswick from early 1800s. John was born on 04/06/1769 not known where. Parents John and Elizabeth, as entered in family bible. May have been in the Army, then was the Sexton/Beadle at St Nicholas Church, Chiswick. He died in 1821 aged 52. John and Sarah had 9 children, including James born 1799 at Shorncliffe Army Camp, Kent. Daughters Salley and Elizabeth had middle name of Woodland and Sarah had middle name Douglas. Would love to hear from anyone who has connections to this family.

Maria THAYER (c1812-1886) m. George Samuel Wegg HORNE (1811-1873) at Chiswick in 1834.They arrived in Australia in 1830's. Maria died in Sydney N.S.W. and is buried at Waverley Cemetery. Would love to have more information on Maria or possible family members.

STREET family
Looking for information on any STREET family connected with Chiswick, particularly family of Thomas (c1727-1796) and Sarah STREET (c1750-1814) who requested burial there, as did Thomas's sister Jane SMITH (d 1803). Also buried at St Nicholas, Chiswick, are their son George (1775-1826) and their daughter Sarah Jane (1782-1830 - married 1 William EVANS and 2 William SIMS). This is not the same family as William Street, butcher, and his wife Elizabeth, of Turnham Green and Chiswick.

Attempting to uncover any info concerning Joseph W. STARKEY, born - probably in Chiswick - abt 1801. Joseph was, at some point,a carpenter. His children are believed to have included: Jane (b. abt 1828), Joseph Walter (b. abt 1829), Daniel (b. abt 1834 and Sarah (b. abt 1837). Identity of spouse is unknown.

Emery or Buckham
I am looking for information on Emma Emery (possibly aka Emma Buckham) who married Thomas Clark. Emma was born in abt 1863. On the 1901 census she is married to Thomas Clark but there are two children listed as son and daughter with the surname Buckham. Searches on Free BMD and census records are drawing a blank. Henry John Smith is my Grandfather. He was born 28th March 1877 (+/- 1yr)in Chiswick Middx. His father was also a Henry Smith, noted as being a marine engineer in 1899. With a name like Smith and sometimes using the first name Harry or John Henry it is proving difficult to locate this family. In 1899 Henry John married Agnes Winslow, then living in 29 Nunhead Grove, Camberwell South London. He worked as a journeyman, hay and straw dealer, window cleaner, cinema attendant/owner but leaves no trace! Any help you can give on the period prior to 1899 would be much appreciated.

My 2x Great Grandfather, Charles Henwood, had a photography studio/shop in Chiswick, Middlesex from about 1878 until about , at least, 1908. I have a lot of information on him from the Census' of the time. He died in 1895 and his wife Emily continued running the business after his death. I would like to hear from anyone who may have information on what happened to the Photography business after 1908 (was it sold?). Thankyou.

Am looking for details on Charles Smith born about 1850 in Chiswick, Middlesex. On the census he is listed as a painter. He married a Jane (possibly Munns) and had children including Elizabeth, Charles, William George, Annie and Florence. William was my great grandfather and married Fanny Kezia Harman in 1904. William died 1911 aged 34. Trying to find his birth date and to confirm the surname of Jane, his mother.

I would like any info on a Louisa Clithero, allegedly born c 1868 in Chiswick. I'm not sure if Clithero was her maiden name or that of an earlier marriage - she married Samuel Kidd Q/E Sept 1896 in the Brentford reg district - but if she HAD been married before, I can't find it. Curiously enough, one of Samuel's sisters was also called Louisa born c 1866 & she married a John Clithero, so maybe this Louisa Clithero was related to John, but if so I haven't yet found the connection.

I am seeking information about William Cowan, doctor of Law, who lived at Grove House Chiswick in the 1850s. He worked at FairLawn, Acton Green, according to 1855 directory. His father was a schoolteacher in Scotland. He matriculated from Glasgow University, and was headmaster for a time in and around 1841 at the Toxteth Lodge School Liverpool. At that time he was married to an Ann Beckwith. But by the 1850s he had married Selina Deeming.

I am looking for an Edward Lampard 13 Suffolk pl 1881 wife Caroline Lampard. They had a son born the following year or Dec of 1881. I believe Caroline may have died in Childbirth or sometime after in 1882.It is likey that Edward then moved to Epsom/Wandsworth, Surrey as the 1901 census suggests. Edward died in 1920 (unconfirmed) William Edward Lampard served in the Royal Navy and was their son. I also believe that Edward may have had a brother called George who also lived in Chiswick. William Edward moved to Australia sometime between 1911 and 1915.
