red mail Irish family names
I am currently undertaking research for a PH.D on the Irish in Brentford in the 19th Century. I will be examining why they came there, what kind of work they were employed in and how they were treated. I am particularly interested to examine if they remained apart from the local townspeople or integrated quickly or a mixture of both. I would be very grateful to hear from any residents of Brentford with Irish surnames who can trace their origin back to the 19th century, and also people who have Irish surnames but no clear family history as to their connection, if any, with Ireland. In both cases I would be extremely interested to know about the kind of occupations their ancestors were employed in, if known.

Am researching my Coleman family in Brentford in the 1800's. Charles Christopher married Eliza Jones in 1852 as a minor in Boston Rd Chapel in the District of Brentford but then came to Australia and married in Young in 1863 and declared himself a bachelor. Henery died in 1849 at age 19. In the 1841 Census they were living in Ealing and in 1851 Martin was living at Eight Bells in Ealing. I think it was a hotel. In 1861 Martin and Mary were living at what I think is Bath Rd?? in Old Brentford. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone?? Would live to compare notes with anyone who has Colemans in this area. of Brentford.

Their son Joseph Daniel d'Abbadie (no dates) returned to Rochefort, France and married Marie Louise Grabeuil there in 1792. The 4th of their 8 children was Edouard, my 2x great grandfather.
