I am trying to find out more about my mother's family. Her mother's name was Jane Caroline Banner, 22.10.02-12.09.92, and she was the daughter of Sarah Louise Fenn, 01.03.1875-20.04.1935 and Frank Tomlin, born 1872. Sarah and Frank married on 30 August 1895. Sarah's parents were Joseph Robert Fenn 1851-22.06.1895 and Alice Ann Jane Baker, born 1851. They married at St Judes, Bethnal Green on 25.12.1873. Joseph's parents were William and Margaret Fenn (he may have come from Ireland), and Alice's father was Henry Baker. The Banners moved to Walthamstow and then down to Southampton after the Second World War.

My GGP's were John Kuliczkowski and Christiana Nicholson. He of Polish origin born 1804 in Poland and she is beleived to be scottish, date of birth unknown. I have searched all available census returns, the LDS, and BMD's without success. The only record's of J.K is his death certificate recording his passing on the 18th December 1869 at Essex St, Bethnal Green, the birth certificate of his son Joseph - surname spelt as Kulizkouski - born 20th July 1857 at 3,Chapel St, St George East Middx: and his daughter Margaret's wedding certificate dated 5th December 1869 at the Parish Church of St Jude Bethnal Green. At the time of her marriage Margeret was 19 years of age. In both instances C.N was recorded as the mother in the name of Kuliczkowski. As a child, I recall hearing J.K had to ' leave Poland in a hurry ' but,this was never fully explained. Any information would be most welcome.

Looking for members of this Huguenot family. Jean Ouvry and Judith Campard arrived in Blackfriars in 1680. Settled in Spitalfields and carried on their silk weaving business, Children, Madelaine, Judith, Isaac and Joseph.Most of this family and descendants remained silk weavers until approx 1865, stayed in the Bthnal Green, Shoreditch and Hoxton areas of London. Two cousins, surname Boin, carried on weaving in their house in Alma Road, Bethnal Green, until 1943. Never found and presumed killed in Bethnal Green Tube accident. Family still resides in area. This doesn't seem to tie up with her age on her marriage cert. in 1884 where she is stated to be 20, when she married Henry Emery She was killed in the Bethnal Green tube station disaster in 1943 and at that time her age was stated as 78 making her birthyear about 1885.

Amos Osborne was my gr. gr. grandfather.Born in 1821 he was, according to the 1841 census living in Colchester Essex, with his father, also named Amos, and his mother, Jane.There was also a sister called Jane. By 1851 he had married a Mary Ann Bloomfield and they had produced five children,Jane, Miriam, Edgar, Amos and William.The 1861 census shows the family have moved to Braintree, Essex, and have an additional son, Frederick. By 1871 he has moved to Park Terrace,Bethnal Green. Only Amos junior (age 23)has moved with them but they have another daughter, Ellen, born 24.8.1862. In 1881 he, his wife and Ellen have moved to Old Ford Road and it was while living there that Ellen, met and married Edwin John Blake who was also living in Old Ford Road.(My Great Grandfather). Between 1881 and 1891 Amos was widowed and his last address was 10 Seabright Road. The Osborne family trade was silk weaving. Any details anyone may have about the family would be very much appreciated.

She was the daughter of JOHN PRITCHARD (born c1810 St. Luke's, Middx, commercial traveller and weaver) and ANN HUGHES (born c1813 Bethnal Green, weaver and nurse) who married on 16-5-1831 at St. Leonard's church, Shoreditch. Sarah Ann was a silk trimmings maker and shirtmaker, who married HENRY EDWIN JUDD on 20-6-1858 at St. Peter's church, Stepney. Searching for the birth/baptism of Sarah Ann Pritchard - birth does not appear to have been registered.

Interested in finding decsendants of Thomas Lee their son born 1851.He married Emma McDouall. The last known address I have for them is 14 Bushberry Road, Hackney in 1894. May have had a son John Lee 1881. On 1901 census John is a gunner at Royal Artillery Garrisson Sheerness. Died 1920 Buried in Paddington. I am looking for Richard Maynard or a Samuel Edward Maynard living at 273 Globe Rd, Bethnal Green 1880-1890's. They ran a general shop together in the 1891 census. Richard married to Susannah Scott, and Samuel Edward married to Hannah Eliza. All family were shoemakers before had shop. Even if you are of a different maynard line please contact me as i have long lines of other maynards going back to 1780's.

my ancestors all lived in and around the bethnal green area ,hoxton and hackney areas. my gt gt grandfather benjamin lived in no.1.philipp street bethnal green, he got married to anna marie welshman her maiden name that was..on the 27th of may 1849, at the St.John the Baptist church, hoxton .in the county of middlesex, as it was known,. they were as then both of full age, was that 21 or 18?.. they went on to have Henry Osborne, who was born on the 21st september 1860 still in philipp street, and he met and married my grandmother Elizabeth West who was born in 13th september 1870 in shoreditch haggerstone east.i remember a bit, as i was very young myself, i dont ever remember her after the late 1945/6/7/ . she used to give me farthings, i always called her grandma farthing. i remember going to her house once and she lit the gas mantles, and one went pop and it burst... a fierce noise, on my grandfathers wedding cert, one of her many sons. she signed her name by way of an x obviously unable to read or write.
