red mail Roache Family in the 1870's - (Turlough, Turlach, and Parish - County Mayo)
I'm am looking for information about the family of William Roache, born c.1876 in Turlough, County Mayo according to his data in the 1911 UK census. His father was William Roache, (dead by 1908) and he probably had 4 brothers, Thomas, Martin, Michael and Anthony. It looks as if the brothers came to Liverpool c. 1895-1900 and in the 1901 census were living together in Fazakerley, working as farm labourers. We think Thomas Roache married a lady called Alice and emigrated to South Africa (date unknown but could be in the early 1900's) where they had daughter(s) Nancy and possibly Maise. There is a family story that the Roaches were descended from Roche's who fled to Ireland from France at the time of the revolution but we do not have any proof at all for this tale!
