James Coleman and his sisters Margaret and Bridget (all single) emigrated to NSW in the 1840s. Bridget died unmarried in 1858, but James and Margaret left descendants. James and his wife Catherine (Tierney) were my gt-gt-grandparents. Margaret married Bernard Scully. Their parents' names may have been Thomas and Judith.

Seeking any information on William & Elizabeth (Smith) Hargrave. Title holders in 1822 to lands owned by Balfour Esq. They had nine children, 7 of whom emigrated to Australia with them in 1843 aboard the "Neptune". William was also a cobbler, supposedly of some repute. Their eldest daughter Mary Anne Hargrave & married to James Shekelton had previously emigrated and the eldest son, also believed to be William, remained in Ireland. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.

JOHN JOSEPH HUGHES/MARIA WILLIAMS 1931 John Joseph Hughes was born in May 1891 in Killin County Louth. His parents were John James Hughes (1864 – 1940) and Bridget McArdle (1859 – 1894). John Joseph Hughes married a widow Maria Williams (nee Lloyd or Lough) in June 1931. The place of the marriage is not known. It is believed that John Joseph Hughes died in a drowning accident between 1931 and 1945 but his death cannot be traced. The whereabouts of his wife is not known. Does anyone know of this couple?

HUGHES/GALLAGHER KILLIN COUNTY LOUTH 1847 John Hughes (b 1814) from Killin County Louth married Anne Gallagher (b 1820) They lived in Killin and had eight children. Walter b 1848, Henry b 1849, Margaret b 1851, Peter b 1853, Anne b 1855, Maryanne b 1857, Susanna b 1859 and John James b 1864. I am trying to trace Walter Hughes (b1848) who married Catherine Savage in 1876 at Grange RC church County Louth. I am also trying to trace Henry (b1849), Peter (b1853), Anne (b1855), and Susanna (b1859). They may have emigrated. I have details of Margaret Hughes (b1851) who married Patrick Hanlon in 1877 at Lordship RC church.County Louth. Maryanne Hughes (b1857) married Patrick Eccleston at Lordship RC church County Louth in 1886. John James Hughes (b1864) married Bridget McArdle (b1859) at Cooley RC church County Louth in 1887.They lived in Killin County Louth and had 5 children – Patrick b 1888, Peter b 1889, John Joseph 1891, Walter Francis b 1892 and Thomas James b 1893. Bridget McArdle died in 1894 and John James Hughes married Catherine Finnegan (b 1873) at Cooley RC church County Louth in 1895. They lived in Killin County Louth and had 13 children between 1896 and 1916 all of whom I have traced. If you are connected with any of these families kindly get in touch.

Nelson Gash m2 1840 Rose Ann Ecclestone by whom he had at least 4 daughters and perhaps 1 son. Many/All? of Nelson's children emigrated: I am descendant of Thomas who went to New Zealand and married Henrietta Packwood (an emigrant from Worcestershire) Interested to hear from anyone with also researching these surnames in Louth.

Looking for possible relatives of a Joseph holland who married a Rose Hoey on September 29th 1890 at st Patricks RC in the registras district of carrickmacross in the county of Monaghan. Joseph Holland was listed as being a postman and Rose Hoey was listed as being a spinster. Josephs father (Deceased) was a Nicolas Holland(Farmer) and Rose Hoey's father James also deceased was also listed as a farmer. The witnesses at the wedding were listed as being a Francis Carlow and a Rose Ann Carlow.

I'm looking for info on the McQuail family my g aunt Julia Shaffrey married a Thomas McQuail in Liverpool 1928 on the birth cert of one of their children the address is castletown although she had some of the children in liverpool i have since found that 3 of her 8 children where born in castletown i can find no trace after 1938 so believe they returned to Ireland I would be grateful for any leads Thankyou Tracy

1834 William and Mary (sarah)Quinn boarded brig Cupid for Saint John N.B.,Canada. They departed from Newry and on the ships passenger list are shown as living in Warrenpoint, Co Down. Also on the ship were Marys parents and siblings John and Catherine Trainor, from Co.Louth probably Omeath area. I have reason to beleive Williams parents were Bernard and Mary Quinn from Cornamuckla, Co.Louth. I also beleive William and Mary travelled with a child less than 1 year old (James). In Canada they had 9 children. About 1881 William and sarah Mary moved to Boston with some of their grown children. Does any one have any more info on Quinns in this area(Cornamucklagh)or why a man 23 yrs old would be living over in warrenpoint at this time, was that common?

I am trying to trace any one who knew of the casey's of suntown,my gfather was hugh born in 1874 in termonfechan he married Elizabeth Horan 1n 1918.His father was Patrick who married Ann Tiernan.Patrick's parents were Hugh Casey and Judith Landers . My grandfather Hugh joined the Royal Artillery in 1896 until 1921.At some time after he left the army he went to Scotland and worked on the constructing of the Hydro Electic Dam at Pitlochry in Perthshire,he died on the 25/nov/1933 at Tummel bridge by Pitlochry.We believe the family home was called :Suntown: in Dunleer.I would be very interested in anymore information especially on my gggrandparents

Owen Murphy married Annie Sharkey - (Greenore, An Grianfort - County Louth)
Greenore Co. Louth information on the family of Owen Murphy who married Annie Sharkey in 1888 and was an engine driver and had five children, Peter (my grandfather), william, Mary, Katie and Patrick Murphy. The Matthews family from Euston street Greenore circa 1950s. Benny and Rosh Matthews plus their six children lived in Euston street before leaving around 1954/5! Benny worked on the Railway's as an electrician. The six children were Patrick, Brian, Majella, Roisin, Peader. Gerard,(Born in Greenore on October 16th 1949). I think they went to Dundalk before they left for London England. Both Benny and Rosh as well as Majella and Roisin are now deceased. Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Seeking information on the Hannan family in Ireland.James Kirkman Mockler Hannan was born on 10 Nov. 1861 and babtised on 29 Nov.in Episcopal Free Church in the Parish of Monkstown. He died in Lydenburg, South Africa April 26, 1912. His parents were Rev.Francis Hannan, Rector of Mellifont, Drogheda Co Louth and Isabella Leaviss Kirkman, yst. dau.of major James Kirkman, Rifle Brigade. Rev. Francis was chaplain H.M.S. Ajax. and also appears on list of commissioned officers, Chaplain of H.M.S.Imaum 1847-1850. He died July 18, 1894 aged 81. His 4th son, Wm. Egbert died June 7, 1879, from wounds sustained in an attack in Basutoland. They had only daughter,Frances Margaretta Isabella, married J.H. Fullerton, F.R.I.A.I., former Diocesan Architecht. Other sons were Gilbert Alexander born Feb. 11 1866, died June 21, 1898 at Lydenburg, Transvaal. Mention of son, Rev. E.C.W. Hannan in archives and believe to be same as as Wm. Egbert. Another son Francis believe to have gone to Canada but no further info. Father of Rev. Francis Hannan believe to be Gilbert Francis and believe to have served as Bishop on Nelson's fleet. We need any relevant info. Also on possible relatives still living in Ireland and perhaps to find the church in Mellifont or the graveyard where family members were buried. Babtism Cert. from Episcopal Free Church, Kingstown - now Christ Church, Dun Laoghaire was supplied by Representative Church Body Library.
