Elizabeth PITMAN (d. 1785) married William MAY (d. 1781) at St.Mary's church, Weston, Lincs., on 2nd Jan 1743. No doubt they had several children, but daughter Elizabeth MAY married John STOREY (or STORY) on 25th Aug 1779 - perhaps at the same church. My grandmother was a Storey (b. 1869)and John was her gt-gfthr. Does anyone have any further information please ?

My Grandmother. Kate PALING was born in Pode Hole, Spalding. Lincs in 1880, dau of George PALING & Mary Ann SKETCHER. Previous Paling generations lived in Weston, Lincs & I have traced the line back to a George & Mary PALING. George was born about 1755, place unknown, as is the date & place of his & Mary's marriage. I'm sure they came from a neighbouring county but I've been unable to trace them. Any help would be gratefully received.

My family lived in Whapolde in the 19th and 20th centuries. The head of the family was John Walker of Pode Hole, but his son Frank lived in Double Street, Whaplode for many years with his housekeeper 'Miss Annie' Harrison (from Acle, Norfolk). He wasmy great x 2 grandfather and was famed county-wide for the size of his carrots! He had eight children, some of whom stayed in Whaplode, others who emigrated to Sask. canada (with his sister Rose). I would like to hear from anybody related to, or whoremembers, the Walker clan esp. Ruby & Geoff Bates, Grace & Dick Warner, Ambrose, Royal and frank Walker, Ada Hewson. Frank's daughter Grace married Dick Warner and they are buried in the cemetery with their sons. Frank's son Ambrose married (I think) a cousin called Olive and another of his daughters married a man called Stevenson.

Looking for any information re Marjorie Martin, formerly Howard, nee Stevenson. Born in Sandiacre, Derbyshire in 1917. Lived in Peveril Street and Alfreton Road, Nottingham in the 1940s. Divorced in 1947, lost contact with her daughter, Shirley. Married John Dear (Martin or Dear) in Horncastle in 1960 and lived in Cornwall Terrace, Woodhall Spa. Died in Lincoln Hospital 1970. Burial at Woodhall Spa cemetery. Mr Martin, who would have been my stepfather, died in Lincoln Hospital in 1976. Place of Burial/cremation not known. Marjorie/Madge, did she have more children? no history until 1960 when she married this man who went by two names, John Charles Martin or Dear. (called himself Lord John Charles Martin). They both worked in the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa. Anyone who worked there between 1960 and 1970 would have known of them. Any staff photos or Mr Martin's family connections. would be appreciated.

I'm trying to find more info on a 3 x great uncle. His name was Charles Marris and he was baptised at Wootton on 6th Aug 1839. The 1841 & 1851 census records show him living with his parents Charles & Ann Marris at Wootton. In 1861 he was a private in the 94th of foot regiment. At the time of the census they were based in barracks at Brompton, Kent.I know the 94th of foot later became the Connaught rangers. I am unable to find any records relating to Charles after 1861. Anyone know what happened to him.
