I am looking for any information about the William Staines family that lived in Sutton Bridge and moved to Canada around 1912. His full name was William H (for Henry I think) and his wife was named Rosa (formerly Armstrong.) I believe they had 4 or 5 children who went to Canada with them, one a girl name Elsie Staines who is my grandmother. Would appreciate any help or leads. Many thanks, Lisa.

A relative, John Turner, was listed in the 1851 census as living at New Enclosure Lighthouse, Sutton St Mary. Can anyone tell me where this might be? I see from old maps there were two lighthouses to the north of Sutton Bridge and that this area is known as St Mary's Marsh. Would it have been one of these lighthouses that was being referred to? Thanks.

Can anyone help please? My grand father, William Dexter Hatton, was living at Holland House in Sutton Bridge, just before he married my grand mother, Alexandra C. A, Phillippo. Can anyone tell me if Holland House still exists please? If it does, can you tell me how to find it? Also, my great grand father was Abraham Martin Hatton and he was employed as a "Sluice Keeper" by the Inland Navigation Service. Can anyone tell me more about the job and/or the service please? Can anyone help please? My grand father William Dexter Hatton was a Scout Master of the Sutton Bridge Scout group around 1920 - 1939. I am connected to a Frederick Bone of Sutton Bridge, he was the first husband of my great grandmother and died around 1900.
