red mail Cooper
Maria Cooper b.1786 at Market Rasen married John Merry of Herefordshire on 17th May 1824 at Hainton. It is probable that John was Roman Catholic. Their daughter, Maria Merry, aged 15 yrs, is with a Jane Cooper age 65 yrs in the 1841 census along with William Ward aged 25 yrs. There is a link between the Cooper and Ward family as a Mary Cooper married William Ward on 14th Oct 1806 at Hainton. Trying to find evidence of the Cooper parents for Maria/Mary Cooper b.1786 and could this be the same lady marrying twice? red mail John & Phoebe O'Hare
This couple were my gg grand-parents on my mother's side. They died in Market Rasen in 1859 and 1860 respectively. They had children: John 1843 (b.Grantham), Edward 1845, Mary Ann 1847, Frederick 1850, James 1852, and Agnes 1855 (all b. Market Rasen). They were R.C. but it is thought Phoebe converted to be a R.C. John (senior) was born R.C. and came to England from near Newry in Northern Ireland. I seek details of their marriage-as one child became a prist & another a nun they would have been married, I think. O'Hare over time has been variously spelled O'Hair(e)or O'Hear(e) and Griffith has been spelled with a final s, and Phoebe has been spelled Feaby!
