Thomas Ovens was living in Heckington in the 1730s and 40s, and probably longer. He was married to Ann, the mother of my ancestor Elizabeth Ovens, born in Heckington in 1739. There are many in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, though, and Thomas was an exciseman. Does anyone know where he came from, who Ann was, or when he died?
