Gent, Turner or Pennington
When P&O liner SS Persia was torpedoed and sunk off Crete on 30th December 1915, two women born in or around Gosberton were both serving aboard as Stewardesses. Their names were H Gent and Mary Anne Pennington (née Turner), both age 32. Mary survived but her colleague was lost. It seems highly likely that, being of the same age, they probably knew each other from childhood and I would like to think that they joined P&O together. Can anyone tell me the story of either or both of these two women? I am researching the story of the SS Persia and the people aboard on her last voyage,
