I am seeking information about my GGG grandmother Catherine Malowney. She immigrated to New South Wales from Limerick in 1841 (a bounty immigrant on the ship Livingstone). I believe she had a brother Michael and her occupation on the shipping records is listed as kitchen maid. Catherine's parents had died when she came out to Australia. Their names may have beem Catherine and Michael. Catherine married Irishman, Manus McDonnell from Co Mayo and they had 8 children. She died in 1860 in Maitland, NSW.

I am looking for relatives of Patrick Ryan. Born in 1853 his fathers name was Matthew Ryan who's occupation was a railway platelayer. Patrick moved to St Helens, Lancashire and married Mary Cahill in 1882. He died in tragic circumstances on Nov 5th 1896. My unconfirmed research indicates that he may have come from Caherconlish, Limerick. Possible siblings are: John 1857, Thomas 1859, Ellen 1862, Micheal 1864 & Matthew 1867. looking for family relating to william tatton who left limerick for australia ... married annie o'kelly from tipperary. one of their children was violet (born in australia) - she was my grandad's mother (he was born in 1913). i don't have any further information about them at all. apparently there were also 2 tatton brothers who were both policemen in ireland before coming to australia. any help/info about any of them would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for the family of my Grandmother Mary McNamara (known as Lu or Louise) She was born on November 28th 1891 in Limerick workhouse. Her Mothers name was Mary A McNamara. Her fathers name may have been Thomas. She may have had a sister Betty. By 1915 Mary (Louise)had travelled to Burnley in Yorkshire where she worked in the Burnley munitions factory and then in 1917 married John Clifford Wightman in Leeds. In 1921 they lived at Stainer St Manchester where my father John Peter Wightman was born. Throughout the rest of the 1920's and 1930's they lived in Dewsbury West Yorks. Firstly at Park Parade and then in Savile Town. If anyone has any further information about the family in particular Louise Wightman (nee McNamara) I would be very interested to hear from them.

William was born in approx 1805 and was tried in Limerick, aged 24 years, on the 13th March 1828 for stealing a pig. Records show that he was a seaman and farm servant. He was sent to Cork and then transported to New South Wales on the Governor Ready on the 21st of September 1828. The ships indents show the surname as Broggy though later records show the surname Brophy.

John Hickey was born at St Mary's Limerick in 1791. He enlisted with the 71st Regt of Foot and was discharged at Berwick in July 1832 after service in the Peninsular War and Waterloo. He was a cabinet maker by trade. I would appreciate any information as to his family or other connections.

My GF Michael Joseph Hanrahan or O'Hanrahan lived with his parents and siblings who were pig farmers in Limerick before the 1st WW. He followed his two brothers into the army and fell out with his parents when he joined up under age. To the best of my knowledge he never spoke to any of his siblings and parents again, they apparently emmigrated to USA during or after 1st WW ended. He moved to Birmingham, England around 1928 where he married Kathleen Mary Courtney from Dublin. They had 8 children (Michael,Marie,John {my father},Noal,Irene, Peter,Pauline and Robert) he never mentioned to any of his children the names of any of his family from Limerick or a family address. I would be very grateful for any information or help from anyone with knowledge about my ancestors in Limerick??

Emigrated to the United States and arrived in New Jersey circa 1739. He married a New jersey girl of German extraction, the daughter of a physician. Later they settled in Pennsylvania at the limits of indian territory. South of lake Ontario (Western NY state) was Iroquois territory with Mohawks to the east up to the lake Champlain, then to the west, Oneidas, Onondagas, Cayugas and finally Senecas just east of the Niagara river.
