During the war my late father Arthur Lloyd was stationed near Old Dalby and my late mother Esme Lloyd was staying with/working for the Knight family who lived at 'The Grange'Old Dalby. I believe Mr and Mrs Knight's names were Charles and Edna and they had two young sons called John and Paul.I remember my mother telling me that Mr Knight had connections with 'Thorntons' My mother had very fond memories of the family and I believe they kept in touch for many years after the War.I have a lovely portrait of my mother taken circa 1941/2 the year before I was born and I remember her telling me that Mr and Mrs Knight took her to Nottingham especially to have it taken so that my father could take it away with him. I have recently found in my mothers belongings a New Year card signed 'With love from all at 'The Grange' Old Dalby and saying that she would write a long letter when the boys returned to school. I guess 'the boys' would now be in their mid 70's. I would love to find out what happened to the family Cosette
