red mail Williamsons, Walker, Foster
I am looking for the parents of John Williamson & Catherine Walker who were married in Whitwick in 1818. John was born circa 1784 (Whitwick?) & Catherine in Sibson circa 1797. I believe John served in the army in India, hence his late marriage. I cannot find the names of their parents. John Williamson & Catherine Walker may have had 12 or more children. I haven't researched them all. Thomas 1818-1821, Jane 1820-1820, James b 1820, Thomas b 1822, John (my ancestor) 1825-1881, William 1825, Aaron 1828, Jane 1829, Jonathan 1832, David 1834-1881 (died in the USA), Ann 1836 & Catherine b 1842. Their son John (b 1825)may have married Hannah Foster, but I cannot find a marriage for them anywhere. As far as I'm aware they had 7 children, possibly Mary Ann, b 1854, Jonathan b 1838, Catherine b 1860, John 1866, William 1869 & Elizabeth 1875. According to the census records, Hannah Foster was born circa 1833, possibly in Nottinghamshire. Records say she was born in Southwell or Carlton. I'd like to find a record of their marriage & also her parents. Their son Jonathan was my great grandfather. He married Mary Moore in 1882. They had at least 9 children, Hannah b circa 1881, John 1883, Lily 1885, Thomas 1887, Mary 1893, William 1896, Kate 1899 & Florence 1900. William Edward Williamson was my grandfather. He met & married my grandmother, Louisa Woodburn in 1919.They lived in Lowerr Darwen, Lancashire. He died in 1956, I do not know very much about his family. My dad remembers odd things, one of these is that one of his dad's brothers committed suicide, thinking he had cancer, when he hadn't, I've no idea when or where that was ! Any information would be helpful.
