red mail O'Reilly Reilly Family Portarlington or Monasterevin
I'm trying to trace a family who lived in either Monasterevin or Portalington. My Father, Anthony F was born there in 1945 and his Mother was called Sarah O'Reilly. Her siblings were Veronica, May, Enda, Joseph, John and Christina known as Tinny. We know Enda was born in 1921 so assume all other siblings were born between 1915 and 1925 (ish!) We're visiting the area in October 2015 so any information you have would be great! Thanks all, Sam
red mail Family of Arthur WILLIAMS and Dinah NORMAN
I am looking for information about Arthur WILLIAMS, a boot maker by trade, who had a shoe shop in Portarlington and his wife Dinah NORMAN. Dinah & Arthur WILLIAMS married some time before 1844 and they had at least 4 children. Arthur must have died before 1873 because in 1873 Dinah and her children Joseph and Charlotte decided to follow her other sons to New Zealand. They sailed on the ship "Wild Duck". Dinah WILLIAMS died on board from heart failure in May 1873 just a few days before reaching Wellington. Son Robert George WILLIAMS was born in Queen's County in 1845, he was a saddler by trade, married Elizabeth DIXON in 1869 and became the first mayor of Masterton, NZ in 1877. R.G. Williams died in on 24. April 1899 in Masterton, Wairarapa. His brother Joseph WILLIAMS was born on 7. Oct. 1849 in Portarlington, his occupation on the passenger list of the ship "Wild Duck" is listed as "constable from Kildare". He died in Masterton in 1924. Henry Norman, a boot maker, was born in Portarlington in 1852. He died in Auckland, NZ in 1926. My great-grandmother Charlotte Emily WILLIAMS was born in Portarlington in ca. 1853, married George DIXON in 1873 in Masterton and died in Auckland in 1926.

red mail Fleming Farmily Portarlington
Hello, I am looking for birth details of my great great grandmother, MARY JANE FLEMING, born in Portarlington Ireland, probably between 1820 & 1825. Her father was DAVID FLEMING - unfortunately,I don't know who her mother was. MARY JANE FLEMING married JOHN GIBBONS MATHEWS, in Dublin, July, 1845,cert says she was 23 at the date of her marriage. Her father, David Fleming, was an Officer in the Royal Irish Artillery at that time (1845), but I am also wondering if there was any Military established in Portarlington at the time of her birth. It would be really good to know who my great great mother was, and at this stage I think only her birth informaation is going to give em this. I would be delighted if anyone could throw any light on this birth for me, and maybe someone who reads this may have a Fleming connection in Portarlington. Thank You. Jeanne
