I am researching the following Nuttall family and would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have connections: John Nuttall, born c. 1786 in Rossendale, a Block Cutter, living in Calderbrook/Blatchinworth in 1841, with an Elizabeth, born c. 1791. In 1851 he is living in Belfield, Butterworth Freehold, with an Isabella, born c. 1784 in Rossendale. He dies before the 1861 census. John's children include James (c. 1814), Ellen (c. 1818, marries ? Broughton and then James Rhodes), Thomas (c. 1821), John (c. 1824), and Halstead (c. 1827)--all born in Rossendale. The male children all work in the print works in various occupations. These children later reside primarily in Calderbrook, Littleborough, or Butterworth.

George LONGMIRE, son of William LONGMIRE of Kendal married Ann BRAITHWAITE in 1692. They lived for a while at Crook, but then settled at Colthouse and Roger Ground.They were members of the Society of Friends (Quakers) and attended the Colthouse Meeting House. George was employed to build the wall around the Colthouse Quaker Burial Ground, in which he was later interred. They had a number of children, whose names and dates I can share. I descnd from William b 1702, who moved to Leeds, where he became a maltster and eminent Quaker preacher, attending Annual Meeting in London. He married Anna ENGLISH nee HORNOR, widow of Nathaniel ENGLISH (who was a descendant of Margaret FELL nee ASKEW). I have Anna's will. Their son Benjamin b. 1748 became a tobacconist in Castle Donnington, Derbyshire, and stated that to be his occupation when he married Elizabeth PAGE nee PLOWRIGHT at St Peter's, Derby in 1772. KJI

Trade Directory listed Arnold in Moor Lane , Crosby in 1943. In 1946 Dorothy Perkins was listed there so presumably Arnold had died by this time. His second marriage was to Jane Collier in 1778 in Warton and they had six children - Molly (Mary?), Jonathan, Joseph, Richard, Jane and William. Any further information on Joseph (1730) would be much appreciated especially as to where he originated from and who his parents were.
