He died in 1866 at "Brabina", Whittingham, His wife is either Mary Harrison or Mary Preston. Both were born within a few miles of each other : Mary Harrison was born in Kirkham, Lancashire, whilst Mary Preston was born at Singleton in The Fylde - both were born about 1799.
Miss Ellen Howorth (1758 - 1825) of Walton le Dale
I am looking for information on Miss Ellen Howorth (1758 - 1825) of Walton le Dale. She was wealthy enough to have a portrait in oils done, so she ought to have left a footprint and presumably was living in Walton in the period around 1800 - 1810, though not necessarily born there. Failing news of Ellen, I should be grateful for information on any other Howorths (all spellings) living in Walton le Dale in the period 1780 - 1830. Thanks Stephen
