Would like to contact anyone interested in Alice Birch, married to Charles Motterham, son Charles b.18/12/1842
William George Lawson born C1890, 2/10 Battalion (Liverpool Scottish) King's Liverpool Regiment
I am searching for any descendents of William George or his younger brother Walter. They were the sons of Walter George and Matilda (nee Doherty) who were born in 1866 (or thereabouts) and married in St Mary's Church Walton on the Hill in 1888. Walter George was a publican at the Penrhyn Castle and latterly the Winslow Hotel (opposite Everton football ground) until his premature death in 1898. William G and Walter were brought up by their uncle Edwin Augustus (at the Bank Hall Hotel) and grandfather William Lawson (at the Glebe Hotel, Walton). William George joined the Liverpool Scottish in early 1916 and was involved in action in France and Flanders in 1917, including the Dicky's Dash trench raid (for which a memorial was recently unveiled in Erquinghem Lys). He evidently survived the war, being awarded the Military Medal in 1917 for his action in Flanders and was apparently demobilised in April 1918 (curiously, before the war ended). Any help will be much appreciated. (I have already been in contact with the Liverpool Scottish Museum).
