My ancestor Jacob Greenhalgh lived on Newchurch Road, Stacksteads. He attended the Waterbarn Babtist Church. On my last visit to England, I saw that the churh was no longer in use. I wonder if anyone can give me some details on this church and where would the records be held? I would also be interested to hear from any descendants of Jacob and Susannah (Ratcliffe) Greenhalgh, they lived in Stacksteads from 1861.

I'm trying to trace the Hacking line: so far I've got back as far as David in about 1820... there seem to have been a lot of Hackings in Stacksteads in those days, I'm curious to know where they all came from and how they were related

William Griffiths and Mary Hacking married in the Chapel of Bacup on Sep. 5th, 1846. He was a blacksmith born in Shropshire. Mary's father was Richard Hacking. Children: Sarah, abt. 1847; William, Oct 8, 1849; John, abt. 1856; and Edward, abt. 1865. Father, William died 1870 and Mary later married Robert Peacock, a widower and neighbor according to the census of 1871. Am interested in any information on these family members.

Dennis Jackson born stackstead 23/10/1881. father dennis, mother martha elizabeth barton, brother james albert born 1876, sister elizebeth born 1877, same area. Dennis (1881) married Beatrice Roberts. jamews albert had four children, george, elsie,phyllis and albert.

In the 1851 census, James TRIPPIER, his wife Alice and children Alice, Sarah and Joseph were living at Acre Mill. Their other daughter Elizabeth was with Alice's Father - James CROPPER at Lower Rocliffe.
