My Grandparents were William Connolly 1914-c1990 (William was known by all as Bill and was a fanatical Evertonian who seemed to live for his seat in Lower Bullens!, His father was Daniel Connolly, a French Polisher we think, his Mother was Sarah Stewart who died in 1915 when Bill was just 14 months old, Daniel subsequently remarried and had another son called Patrick who was a well-known soap-actor ) married to Mary Ellen Henderson(known as Nellie, born in Burnopfield, Co. Durham and a Sister at Walton Hospital) they lived at Rudley Walk, Speke, Liverpool. On the Patten side, John Patten (1915-1982) Married to Ellen (Nellie) Almond 1920-1994 Harland Green, Speke, Liverpool. That whole generation are gone now and I am wishing that I had started this search 20 years ago!

I am trying to trace the family name of my father's side.They came from Ireland in the 1800's the earliest I can find a mention of the name is in 1881 Cencus It mentioned Andrew (My G Grandfather)and James Knilands (23) (25) respectively living at the house of their cousin Robert Phillips (32)and his wife Mary Jane (20)( who were both listed as coming from Ireland too. Robert was listed as being a railway worker and My G Grandfather and his brother were listed as labourers. Robert had 3 children Andrew(10) Margaret J (8) Robert H (6). Andrew married in 1889 Martha Inch who was also Irish Her father William was a Master Mariner but i dont know anything about him He had died before they got married. I havent found the connection in Ireland yet but would like to trace the cousins Phillips . thanks :)

Looking for information on Job Allen, Merchant Seaman (married to Elizabeth Creek), also owned pub in Toxteth and 3 ironmongery shops, before taking on a carting business on the Mersey docks. George Allen was Job and Elizabeth's son and married Alice Elizabeth Eccles. He was also a merchant seaman, then became a Rolls Royce mechanic & chauffer, working for a Dr King in West Kirby and then for Mr and Mrs Blackler who owned Blacklers Store in the centre of Liverpool. The Blacklers lived at "Park Lea" in a gated street in Aigburth. George & Alice emigrated to Australia in 1925/26. Any information on the Allens, Creeks, Eccles or Blacklers would be appreciated.

I have little detail on Mary Ellen Myers, only that she is my husbands GGGrandmother and at the age of 38 in 1878 in Wellington, NSW Australia she had a son William John and a daughter Pheobe Jane 2 years out of wedlock. Both these children were adopted by a John Wilson later, on thier birth certificates it gives Mary Ellen Myers as mother birth place Liverpool, England. Her birth would have been around 1840, there are no parents mentioned. I dont know if she came to Australia as a free settleror convict. Having great difficulty researching my great grandfather John Henry CONLEY born c1872 Liverpool. His father was James CONLEY a butcher. I have been unable to find John Henry's birth registration and I have only been able to find him on the 1891 and 1901 census. I know that he enlisted in the South Lancashire Regiment in Warrington Lancashire and he married Annie BARNETT born c1877 London Middlesex in Warrington and that there is a possible connection to Cockermouth. I would really appreciate anyideas.

My great gandfather John James McClellan was born in Liverpool around 1849 but his birth certificate can't be found. His father, also John James, is recorded on his son's marriage certificate in 1871 as a baker, whereas the son was a mariner. A brother went to America around 1860 according to family legend. I am only 14 and i am trying to find my dads side of the family.His name was Christopher quinn,born 14/03/1969 in liverpool.I never new my dad because 2years after i was born he died in a car accident in liverpool in 1991 at the age of 22.Since theni have been trying to contact his side of the family.His dad is called joseph quinn and his mum is called eilene quinn (johnson), they should be in their 50s.He also had a brother called michael quinn who now should be in his late 30s and he has a sister called marie quinn, who i don't know much about is in her early 30s.I know where joseph and eilene live but i want to know a lot of info about them first so if anybody knows anything, even the littlist details about them, e.g when their where born,anything, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. My ancestor Thomas C Lopdell married Catherine Ryan in St. Anthonys church Liverpool in 1870. My grandmother Elizabeth was born in the flat above the shop, which was a confectioners. Have found the Ryans listed in trade directories, the property wasbuilt by Brummer Mond as John Ryan worked in the chemical factory. Family seem to have left that address by 1891 census. Catherine was the 16th child.

Ellen Mclean born circa 1829 Liverpool arrived in Australia circa 1842-44 unable to find her parents on death certificate father Mclean miner and mother Margaret, not sure if this is correct, as I have a possible as parents Mary and John. is there anyway of finding her parents on this scant bit of information. I do have an Ellen Mclean who arrived 1844 transported for 7 years to Tasmania who also born circa 1829 Liverpool but unable to prove she in my ancestor because of lack of parents name. Ifshe is the right one her sister Margaret was also transported to Tasmania in 1837 as a convict. Any help with the English side of this mystery would be gratefuly received Trish :-)
