I've tracked my family back to James Hankin a Farmer in Lathom B. abt 1809 (although some records say between 1805 - 1811!) he married Ann Forshaw in 1835 and they had 6 children (that I know of...). James B 1853 Joseph B 1849 (Later Married Elizabeth) My GGrandfather John B 1851 Robert B 1845 (Later Married Ellen?) Mary (Ann) B 1840 Elizabeth B 1838/41? ( Later Married R? Would like information about John Bennett, born in Eccleston and married to Martha Ashcroft of Lathom at St. Paul's Skelmersdale 1886. They lived at the lodge at Lathom Hall where John Bennett worked as gamekeeper, later they moved to Skelmersdale and then to Broad o'th Lane Shevington by the time of the 1901 census. By this time they were 44 and 42 respectively and had several children, the second oldest being my grandfather, George Bennett, born in 1887.

My great grandmother Alice Bentham was born in Lathom in 1853.can find no trace of her until she had my grandmother Elizabeth Ellen in 1874 in Southport. She was unmarried. No trace of my grandmother until 1891 census in Runcorn.Cheshire I think that the Benthams were boat people,on the canal, but not sure.
