My ancestor Mary Yewdall (b. 1822) marred Henry Bickerstaff on 10.3.1849 in Lancaster Vol. 21 Page 346 & appears in subsequent censuses. In 1851 has 1 son Thomas (HO 107/2272/Folio 131 Page 40 Roll 87299). In 1861 has children Thomas (now 10), Achsah (9), William (7), Betsy (3) & Margaret (5) RG9/3156 Folio 73 Page 44.In 1871 lives in Bridge Street with Henry, Thomas Yewdall Bickerstaff (21), William (17), Charles (8), Achsah (19), Betsy (13). In 1881 living in Skerton RG11/4263 Folio 33 Page 1.
Thomas Yewdall (b. 1816) married Agnes Blezard on 24.5.1845 in Lancaster Vol 21 Page 376. Had children Mary Jane born 17.2.1846 Baptised 10.4.1850 (Youdell) at St. Mary Lancaster (Baptisms 1845-1852 Page 184 Entry 1466 lDS File: 1526200) and Margaret born 14,4.1848 baptised 10.4.1850 (Entry 1467). Thomas was a spinner in 1850. Seems Thomas died shortly afterwards (although cant locate record) as Agnes remarried Edward Barrow in 18 November 1850. In 1851 Census Agnes Barrow (check 29 b. 1822?) is a shopkeeper in Penny Street Lancaster with daughters Mary Jane & Margaret HO107/2272

My gt grandfather's sister Mabel Matilda Mitton married John Routledge Robinson in Burnley 1909. They had eight children 1911 to 1930: Elizabeth 1911, William 1916, William 1919, George 1913, Arthur S 1921, Bertha 1923, Joyce 1926, Evelyn 1930, and eventually settled in Lancaster in the 1950's where John and Mabel died. I am seeking information or descendants of NELLIE BALDRANCE born 1911 in Lancaster. She was the daughter of Nancy (nee Makinson) and Robert William Baldrance. Nellie married JACK PERCIVAL BURRELL at Lancaster in 1935. Jack was the son of Margaret Ann (nee Russell) and Willie Austin Russell. I have found only one child - David Burrell born in 1936. Jack Burrell had two sisters - Olive Russell Burrell (born 1901 Bradford, married Thomas P Blackburn) and Dorothy Burrell (born 1909 Bradford).

Born 9.10.1922, had 3 brothers, Joe, Jack and Harry. After parents died in approx. 1928, all went to Sidcup and Hanwell homes in London. Both Joe and Jack are deceased and my father (Anthony) died in 2009. He emigrated to Australia in 1964. He lost contact with his brother, Harry (Henry James) in 1944 (the day dad married). I often wondered what happened to him. I know he was fostered out from the home when he was about 2 years old.
My GG Grandmother Bridget Scott was born in Kamptee, India, Feb 1847. On her marriage to James Dolan in India they moved from India to Lancaster where they had 2 children, Edward and Francis adding to the 5 children they had had in India. In 1883 the family moved to Australia and had an additional 3 children the youngest being my Grandmother. Bridgets parents were William and Mary Ann Scott. William was a drummer in the 25th Reg of Foot. I have no background on William and Mary as to where they were born, married, or died etc. William was a Drummer in the 25th Regiment of Foot. James Dolan was a private at the Depot 1/21 Regiment of Fusiliers being in Madras, Bangalore, Bellary at different times. Does anyone have any info on these families. Cheers Di (Aust)

hi . samuel and mary taylor are from Derby and had some of their children in bradbourne/carsington area. but moved to gorton in lancashire around 1846 to have samuel 1846, frances and mary ann in 1854. their daughter hannah born 1840 married thomas chadwick also from gorton area. Nellie (also known as Eileen or Ellen) gave birth to her second child at 5 Barrows Yard, so there must have been a close family connection. John Varley, Silkdresser, lived at Russel St and Eliza Ashworth, Servant, at Cable St when they married in 1859, and were living in Germany St when my gfather James Varley was born in 1860. Robert Varley, Joiner, died at Church St in 1870 (probably my gggfather). Any connections?
