Joseph Bray born 1843 (wheelwright) lived Sugar Lane with his family. He came from Bowden / Mobberley in Cheshire. His daughter Lena born 1876 in Roby married my great grandfather Elias Plumbley he worked for the Earl of Derby and had a cottage on the estate for over 50 years. Family married into the Antrobus / Gornalls / Syders families. Any connections welcome.

Also my Grandfather THOMAS CADDICK b1854,Gt Grandfather JAMES CADDICK b1811,Gt Gt Grandfather JAMES CADDICK b1781, Gt Gt Gt Grandfather THOMAS CADDICK b1746. Any potted histories of the above and their wives and children greatly appreciated and where possible photos would be nice. But info on any Caddick's from this area would be welcome

Looking for details of my maternal ancestors. Robert Hayward (1832-1892, wife Henrietta Philips)) and Thomas Barnes (b 1834, wife Sarah Gould) were both born in Dorset, where they both worked as gamekeepers before moving to Knowsley to work on the estate. Robert's son Edward married Thos's daughter Mary. Several members of the family worked on the estate, and if anyone has any reference material about Knowsley, I would be very interested. Thanks.

Priscilla Thomas b. Knowsley 1868 was at 10 Brook St. BOOTLE in 1881. Fredk G ROSS was a lodger. They went to BOMBAY, India where they were married in 1889. Four sons were born there. George (1890), Harold (1894), Walter (aka Leslie Walter)(1896), Harry (1899). 1901 census Priscilla and 4 boys were living at TARRANT HINTON, Dorset. By 1925 Priscilla was at 24 Poole Road, WIMBORNE, Dorset. Does anyone know anymore of the story? We are particularly interested in Leslie Walter ROSS. 1903 trade directory shows ESSENDINE ROSS. Who was he or she?

I'm looking for more information about Mary Phythian who seems to have been born in Knowsley about 1798. She married George Sephton, possibly about 1820 but I know nothing else about the Phythian family. Can anyone help? Many thanks.

Margaret Caldwell (b c1823) was the daughter of James Caldwell of Radshaw Nook on the Knowsley/Kirkby border (unfortunately she was omitted from the previous message re Caldwells !) She married John Jones (b c1816) of Barton in Cheshire at St Peter's, Liverpool in 1841.
Researching William Henry Beecroft (DOB 1836) and family. The 1851 Census shows him as a 15 year old pony boy working on the estate of the Earl of Derby at Knowsley Hall, Liverpool. He married Martha Shaw (DOB 1841)and they had seven children including William Henry (DOB 1867) George Robert, Frederick, Louise, Frank, Alfred through to Albert (DOB 1882).The 1871 Census shows he had moved his family to London, where he had been born. He died in 1883 aged 47 and his wife subsequently returned to Prescot where she was born and married William Tucker a seaman. I would be most grateful for any further info. or connections.

John Caldwell (c1746) was married to Margaret (Bullen?). His parents were possibly Edward Caldwell and Hannah. John was a nurseryman of Radshaw Nook on the border of Knowsley and Kirkby. His children were Thomas (1763), William (1766), Mary (1770), Margaret (1773), Ellen (1776) and James (1780) William continued the nursery business in Knutsford. James stayed at Radshaw Nook, but as a a farmer. Ellen married Robert Molyneux. Margaret married Thomas Molyneux. James married Margaret Ashcroft. William married Sarah ?. James' children were William, Betty, Thomas, James, Mary, John, Joseph and Isaac. Margaret married John Jones of Barton, Cheshire

I am looking for any information on my gggrandfather and his family. My ggrandfather, Joseph Groves was born in Lancashire (abt 1855) to a John and Margaret Groves. There is a John listed on the 1861 census as being born in Knowsley. He would have been born around 1820. In the mid-1860's the three came to the US where more children were born. John is listed as being an "iron moulder." I do not know when he and Margaret would have married. ANY info would be appreciated as I am STUCK!!!!! Thanks.
