Esther Kerr from Cole hill county longford Ireland married ernest stevenson , ernest died in or around 1910/1911 . The last address for ernest and esther was 55 peter street hightown broughton salford. They had the following children marion born Dublin ireland, Emily born Ireland , rose, William and a younger brother John? All stevenson. In 1916 nana esther married robert milne Chorley lancashire. Can anyone add any info on the stevenson side. As ernest is my great grandad . Ernest stevenson 1880. 1901 census hairdresser. This fits with my grt grandad

Searching for descendants of Cornelius Winstanley and Ellen Wilson who married at St Laurence church, Chorley, Lancashire in 1769. Ellen Wilson was a widow at the time of her marriage to Cornelius. They had four children, Thomas Winstanley born 1771, John Winstanley born 1773 (who married Betty Cooper), Cornelius Winstanley born 1775 and Ellen Winstanley born 1778. I am trying to get any information on Edward (my great uncle). All that I know is that he was born in 1883 in Chorley, lived @ 96 Water Street, Chorley in the 1891 Census, his father was William Roughley, mother Sarah Roughley. He totally disappears from then on, however I am aware that he was in Chorley in 1919 when he presented my Grandmother with a gift from Jerusalem, and my mother remembers seeing him when he visited them around 1950. I am relatively new to searching my Ancestors and really do seem to have "hit a brick wall" with this one. Any information would be much appreciated.

Looking for descendents/family information for Alice Roscoe, born 1n 1837 in Chorley, married Daniel Ball. Their daughter was Mary Ball, born in 1858, who married Robert Hope. Their daughter Ellen (Helen) Hope was my grandmother, married to a Canadian soldier Walter Wilby Preston. She died in 1940 in Killarney, Manitoba, Canada. Info much appreciated!

Hi I am tracking relatives from the Chorley area. Most of my relatives worked within the clothing trade in the 1850's. My mother Lois Hilda Brindle was born 20th July 1927 in Choley but moved to Glasgow with the family in 1929. Her father was John Hart Hardie born about 1900. He was a travelling salesman. Any info on Brindles and Hardies would be great. I believe aunt Hilda owned a pie shop in Chorley as well! Thanks Linda Hayler

Cn anyone help trace living relatives of John Whittle and Wm Rushforth or help with more info? They were proprietors of the Union Wagon Works, Chorley, before 1874. They were then bought out by paying them in shares to form the Union Railway Carriage & Wagon Co Ltd. This was wound up in 1880. John Whittle then traded as John Whittle Railway Waggon Builders, again in Chorley. I have some information about what they did, but wonder if anyone knows more about the two men & their business.
