I am searching for any family members in the Douglas or Stevenson family. Annie Douglas married William Stevenson sometime in the 1890's I think. They lived at 11 St Patrick's Road when Robert was born. Robert was a merchant seaman and married a Mary Agnes Tyson in 1945 and lived in Warton, Carnforth, Lancashire. My great great grandfather was Henry PITTOCK and according to the 1881 census he was born around 1850 in Milford, Yorkshire which I take to be now called South Milford near Leeds. In 1873 in Liverpool he married Sarah MCINTOSH (born c1853 in Dundee) and in 1881 they were living at 23 Napier St in Barrow in Furness before moving to Motherwell in Scotland with their (at that time) 5 children around 1887. Donald died in 1939 in hospital in Glasgow, and Sarah Ann died in 1962 in Motherwell. Both parents had died by 1939. Henry was listed on census as an Iron Smelter or possibly Steel Hammerman. Family legend has it that they were of Romany origin but that is extremely doubtful at best. Does anyone have any relevant information on any of the PITTOCK family? Thanks in advance.

red mail HALL & STEVENS family(s)
My GG grandparents were Samuel and Annie Hall who were farmers (poss.address - Norncoth(?)) within parish of Abdon at Stoke St.Milburyne, Shrophire. I have a copy of the baptism cert. for their son John Hall who was baptized on 1 July 1837, cert. is signed by 'H.Wilson Rector of Abdon'. We know John was married twice - he had 2 children to his first wife (Samuel and Sara). After the death of his 1st wife he married Eliza Jones on 11 August 1868 at St.Johns Church, The Pleck, Walsall. They had a further 7 children one of which was my grandmother Emma. By the time Emma was born (1883)they were living in Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire (now Cumbria). Emma married Charles Henry Stevens and had 4 children Maude, Elsie, Gladys and Charles Henry (Jr) - who was my Dad. They lived in St.Lukes Street most of their married lives. Does anyone have any common ancestors? Would love to hear anything which could be relevant. I am now living in Australia and would dearly love to pass on family history to my own grandchildren. Joan
