I am seeking any information on Archibald Gall and Euphemia who migrated to South Australia on the Ariadne in August 1839. I am married to the great great grandson of Archibald and Euphemia and am struggling to find anything about their life before migrating. The agents record for the assisted passage suggests that he was a shepherd from Westown Lesmahagow. Cheers

William Fraser ( 1825-1901) married Janet Hill Gilchrist( 1825-1899.)in 1848.Their son Richard Fraser Senior was born in 1862 in Lesmahagow Lanarkshire. His brother William Fraser (1887-1945)married Jean Gibson.He died in Neerim South Victoria Australia.It states a living Fraser. He was Richard Fraser juniors brother born 1893 so the living Fraser might know more about Richard Junior. One of Richard Seniors daughters emigrated to Canada when the rest of the family moved to Australia. She has a granddaughter living Sheila Massi. I hope someone can help me to learn more about Richard Fraser junior and help me to complete my family tree.

Looking for connections to Christian (Christina) Russell, born Wellburn, Lesmahagow in 1796. She was the daughter of John Russell and Janet Chalmers. Siblings included Agnes, Marion, Janet, Archibald, Mary, George, Ann & Elisabeth. Christina married Robert Taylor in 1824 and had son Archibald (b 1826). He married Jane/Jean Muir and had daughters Elizabeth Morton Taylor, Christina Barbara Taylor & Janet Muir Taylor. Christina maybe married Richard Reid in late 1820's and had son Richard. Christina, son Richard and granddaughter Elizabeth were in Lesmahagow in 1851. She died in 1857 in Paisley.

Looking for information on Rose Ann Kane and her family. She was born 1875 in Dalziel. She lived in Lesmahagow. She had a sister called Margaret, born 1877, two brother's called John, born 1881 and Richard, born 1879 and a adopted sister called Margaret Hailey, born 1889. Her parent's were called Patrick Kane and Eliza Jane Mullen. They both died in 1901. Rose Ann married a William Donnelly in 1904 in Blackwood, Lesmahagow. Margaret married a Patrick Boyle in 1907 in Blackwood, Lesmahgow. Richard married a Mary Donnelly in 1910 in Blackwood, Lesmahgow. John married a Mary Jane Connor in 1908 in Blackwood, Lesmahagow. I don't know what happened to Margaret Hailey. Any information on any of these would be so gratefully appreciated.

I am researching the family of John LINDSAY (son of James LINDSAY & Elizabeth BANNATYNE (BALLANTYNE), b. 1836 Kirkmuirhill who married (30 May 1856, Nethanfoot) Helen THOMSON (dau of James THOMSON and Helen LEES) b. c. 1835 Crossford. John and Helen went to Australia and produced 8 children, the first not until 1863. I would like to hear from anyone with an interest in these families please.

Joanna E. Wood was born in Lesmahagow on 28 Dec 1867. She moved to Canada with her family while a young girl. She later became a famous author in Canada, living in Queenston and Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario. Her parents, Robert Wood (b. 9 Mar 1821, d. 20 Dec 1896 in Queenston, Ontario) and Agnes Todd (b. 27 Oct 1821, d. 24 Feb 1910 in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario), were both born in Stirlingshire, Scotland. Any information on Robert, Agnes, their siblings, or ancestors, would be much appreciated.
