red mail Kilday/Russell family
Hi, I'm researching my great grandparents John Russell and Mary Kilday. They lived at 3 Purdie Street Hamilton when my Grandfather Andrew Russell was born in 1915. I've found information regarding 2 Kilday brothers who lived at 4 Purdie Street Hamilton in 1914 and were killed in pit accidents, Matthew and John were their names and one was kicked by a pit pony and the other got hurt by a cutting machine. I'd appreciate any information about the Russell and Kilday families, photos would be wonderful, putting a face to the names. Mary and John Russell moved to Eastwood Nottinghamshire around 1924 according to my grandfather Andrew, sadly my grandfather passed away in 1982. I think John passed away in 1956. Thank you in advance.

red mail SMITH, Jane Scoular b. 20 May 1885
Jane Scoular Smith was b. 1885 at Broomhouse, Lanarkshire (my grandmother) and she married William Watt WALLACE at Blythswood, Glasgow in 1905. They had a son, Thomas Watt Wallace (my father) born 1906 in Hamilton, Lanarkshire. William emigrated to Pennyslvania, USA in 1907 to work in the Ben's Creek Coal Mine at Myra, Washington Township, Cambria County, Pennyslvania, and Jane/Jeanie and their son Thomas, followed in 1908. William Watt Wallace and his son Thomas Watt Wallace are included in the 1910 Illinois census, which indicates that William was a "Widow" at this time. I have not been able to locate a place or date of death for Jane/Jeanie Scoular Wallace (nee Smith) in either Illinois or Pennyslvania. As she arrived at Ellis Island August 1908 and the 1910 Illinois census was enumerated on the 15th April 1910, she obviously died between those dates. Jane/Jeanie's husband (William) died in 1916 and is buried at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City, Williamson County, Illinois. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should next proceed?
