I am looking for information on a Nathaniel Bland born 1788 in Balmaclellan, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. He married a Mary King born 1801 from England. His parents were John Bland and Jean Heron. At the time of the 1851 Census for Dumfrieshire, Kirkcudbrightshire & Wigtownshire, he was recorded as living at High Street, Household No. 2A/35. His occupation was listed as Burgh officer. A daughter Agness Bland born abt 1838 (she would have been about 13 in 1851) was also registered as living with Nathaniel and Mary at the time. If you have any information in regard to this family or know any relatives of this family, I would be so grateful to hear from you.

Hello, I am researching my ancestor, Grace Henderson, who was born in Corsock in 1837 and who came to New Zealand as a young woman with James Coskerie from Kircudbrightshire They married in New Zealand. And one of her daughters Alice May Coskerie is my Grandmother, who married my Grandfather Joshua John Britten in Glenavy New Zealand and then sailed for Australia. Alice never returned to her Homeland. I understand that Grace Henderson, (her Mother) died at Meadowbank Farm Cork in Ireland. on 30th September 1921, So in fact either place could hold the key to her background. So at some stage Grace went back to UK. James Coskerie,her husband died three months later in Auckland New Zealand 23.12.1921 I have some lovely photos of her, and would like to learn more of her background and ancestors, so if there is anyone who could help me with the Henderson Family from Corsock I would be very Grateful. I'm seeking information on John Lourie b Girthon Nov 1863, father John Lourie, mother Jessie Kinnell. Young John was a jockey and killed in a riding accident in France. I have no date. Can anyone give me any information on William prior to 1797 when he was recorded as Blacksmith in the village? He was born about 1773 and had five children. He is my GGGgrandfather. I have good information from about 1800 onwards, but have been unable to find anything previously apart from birth of two children. He was married to Mary Martin, who was born 1758. Both died 1841 in Lochfoot. He owned the smithy and some surrounding cottages.

I have a William MacConchie married to Ann Glover in about 1820 having a daughter Elizabeth McConchie (or McConchay) who married William Kean at Ardrossan in 1848. Eizabeth was born in 1823 in Girthon Kirkcudbrightshire. The only link I have been able to find with William is a William Conchie who married Ann Condie Glover on 1819 in Wigtown Dumfries - don't know if this is the same one or whether Mc or Mac were commonly added to surnames in Scotland. Hi All I'm wondering if anybody has any info on my GGGG grandfather John McRinkine who was an Excise officer in the area for 30 years 1759-1789, He was married to Anne Aitken, from Dumfries(I think), and they had 9 children, 4 and a bit of whom I've traced, James Rankine to Kirkcudbright, Adam to Dumfries, Henry & Roger to Leith and Elizabeth to Dumfries (I think). Searching for Info about the parents, siblings, uncles and cousins of Alexander Macgowan. Alexander was born c1745 m:10 Oct 1785 to Mary Newall. They had 17 children, I can only find the names of 15. Alexander was the Presbyterian Minister in Dalry for 43 years, after he died 12 Oct 1826, Mary moved her family to Kirkcudbright. Their daughters married into families (ie) Christie, Manson, Edmonstone, Glover, Malcolmson, and Thorburn.

Hi wondering if anyone remembers my fathers family(Robert Pringle Innes) his uncle Frank Daziel,( lived in the blue house) his father John(think he was a shoemaker) franks sister Margaret(my grandmother) (all born in the big house on the right at top of hill in st johns town of dalry) she married William Innes from west calder(i think) about 1928-30, she had 3 children before marring my papa, Ernest who was mayor of tyne and wear(whom my dad kept contact with) Daniel who i believe joined the army/navy/RAF and last known to be living in morayshire/lossiemouth and Flossie who last i remember was living in gates-head Newcastle and had married someone called Brown(only met Daniel at my dads funeral in 1985 but i was 13yrs and dont remember him)if anyone has any information on any members of my family(only mentioned 3 there are another 9 brothers and sisters) i got most of my info from my dads cousin Eddie McKay but he's been gone over 10yrs and the sites cost a fortune and turn up zero so i would be very greatful if you could pass it on any info, thx.

William Campbell & Agnes McClellan married at the Balmagie Church on 13/01/1809. Son John m. Susan Kirkpatrick at Crossmichael in 1839 and worked at Meadow Park Tongland. Many chn were born there.Looking for descendants. Some went to USA & Australia.

I am looking for my 2nd great grandmother Sarah Boyle, who according to census records was born in Scotland - a big country! On her marriage certificate it said her father was called William Boyle and he was an agricultural labourer. Using this small amount of information and the fact she was corn circa 1843 I believe I have tracked her back to Tongland, Kirkudbrightshire. Her father William born circa 1812 was probably from Sarby, Wigtownshire and her mother Margaret born circa 1809 from Balamagham. Census records for 1851 show Sarah living with her family at Barnesash Cottage, Tongland, Dunfriesshire. 1861 census she is working as a servant to a family called Ewart in Moffat Dumfriesshire. At the time of her marriage to Henry Atkinson on 15th May 1865, according to her marriage certificate she was living in Gownleyfoot, North Yorkshire and they married in Healey cum Sutton Nth Yorkshire. I feel I have now hit a brick wall with this family and would love to hear from anyone researching the Boyle name that may be able to help me.

Perhaps Andrew & Sarah were children of other daughters of Margaret so her grandchildren? Andrew I believe went to Canada & joined the army (before or after he went). What happened to Sarah?
