red mail Klondike Bill Clements
In the 1940s and 50s my stepfather and the local historian, Mr Collins, used to speak of the Klondike Tea Rooms in St Mary Cray around 1900. I've tried for years to find out about them, but found nothing at all until joining Curious Fox, with your message about William Clements or Klondike Bill. The name always puzzled me, until I thought perhaps someone returned from the Klondike with enough gold to set up in business in his home village. Possibly it was your William Clements... Mr Collins had a photo of the tea rooms, but he died a long time ago, so his collection may be saved somewhere, possibly with the London Borough of Bromley archives. Is this a connection? Jill
red mail Joynsons's Paper Mill, St Mary Cray
