I know there were two children of Joseph Snr; but I have been unable to find out about the marriage (or lack of)of Joseph Snr to Ann Tweedy. Ann arrived with her family at Lyttleton in 1859 on the "Cashmere". Joseph Snr must have been proud of his Kent connections as it was refered to in his death notice. Can anyone give me information about the Ralph family from Sandwich? Does anyone have information about Joseph Charles(Snr)Ralph's marriage?

red mail Isaac George, 1574-1626
Isaac GEORGE or JORIS, born around 1574 in Sandwich, clock maker, moved to Rotterdam in Holland before or around 1600 and married there in 1603 with Annetijge Teunis. He is then named in the records as Isaac Joris or Isaac Joriszn 'from Santwyts in England'. Isaac Joris had 4 children from this first marriage and another 5 from his second marriage with Pleuntje Mees. Isaac George or Joris died in Rotterdam in March 1626. He was a leading clock maker in Rotterdam (a still-existing clock may be attributed to him) and we know a lot about his work and offspring in the Netherlands, but nothing about his ancestors in Sandwich, except that his father was possibly called George, and his mother possibly called Sara or Sarah. His children, in turn, adopted the surname of VAN DER WILS and VAN DER WELS. This leads one to believe that perhaps he was (a descendant of) one of the Flemish immigrants who moved to Sandwich in the mid to late 16th century. Once in Sandwich, this name would have been changed to WILLYS or WILLES. If Isaac was born in Sandwich (and not in Flanders), then his father may have been called George Willys or George Willes. Does anyone know anything more about the background of Isaac George/Joris/Joriszn, or about his parents, George and Sarah Willys or Willes? Does anyone know whether there may still be guild's registers for clock makers in Sandwich for the period 1575-1600? Any leads whatsoever would be much appreciated.
