my mum was evacuated to halling during ww2 and stayed with a family at a pub in halling, unsure of name but stood on a main road. her name is betty lindsay and she arrived with her cousin margaret. can anyone remember them or the pub/ family who took them in. They attended the local school. we would love to find out more about this time. Thank you.

Looking for more information about William Francis and Mary who had a daughter Mary Ann Francis in 1792 in Halling, Kent. There is a marriage between William Francis and Mary Golding in Halling Kent (on LDS) in 1780 so this seems likely to be her parents. Any help would be appreciated finding out about William's parents and whether Mary Golding is indeed the mother of Mary Ann Francis.

Looking for anyone researching the family of George Smith believed to have died in Halling in 1947. His wife was Hannah Smith, Formerly Thompson. The Children were Elsie May Smith born 05.07.1892 in Rainham, married Charles Alfred Whale 21.05.1911 in Clerkenwell,London, died 24.04.1968 in Teignmouth, Devon. Ella Smith married Frederick Gowers. George Smith died 25.12.1940 in Halling. Dudley Smith who was probably a policeman.

Looking for any info on William Henry Morris born Halling abt 1805 he was a miniture portrait painter,lived in Middlesex with Fanny Hopkins had a large family he travelled to Yorkshire where he died in 1870.it is said he did minitures for the courts had two brothers one in the army and one was a bailiff to Lord Radner. 1841 census Fanny also had the name Andrews,she was born Harbledown

I am looking for information on the PEARSON family, who lived in the village from at least 1864. George PEARSON was born in East Peckham in 1837 & married Rose BOWWERS (nee WOOD) from East Malling. George & Rose had at least seven children. George died in 1885 & Rose in 1905. Any information appreciated.

I'm seeking the name and any information pertaining to the Halling Ferryman at the end of WW1. All that is known is that he was married to my gt. gt. aunt Hannah Fletcher. His nephew, Alan Sayer, worked with him also for a time post-war.
