red mail The Bryant Family
Hello, I have an ancestor, George Edward Bryant who had two children, George James Bryant and William John Bryant. In the 1891 Census they are living at Wainscott, Frindsbury. No mother/wife given. I find George married an Emily Jane Bradley on 22 June 1886. At that time their residence is given as Ball's Square, St Nicholas Strood. George's name is given as George John Bryant and not George Edward. George was illegitimate. Emily's father is given as William Bradley a Labourer. Now, son George James was born 4 March 1887, Frindsbury Kent. Father given as George Bryant and mother as Emily Jane Bryant formerly Spicer. William John was born 22 June 1888 in what looks like Noker Street, Frindsbury, father given as George John Bryant and mother Emily Jane Bryant formerly Bradley. This birth is registered on 16 May 1888 and at that time Emily Jane is given as living at Yew Tree Cottages, Bill Street, Frindsbury. Am almost 100% sure this is all one in the same family but cannot understand why Emily is given before as being Spicer. Also am trying to find a map of Frindsbury with the street where William was born and where Emily Jane is given as living when she registered William's birth ie Yew Tree Cottages. Can anyone please help with this mystery of why Emily is given on George Jame's birth as being formerly Spicer and also if anyone can identify the streets given. I am not 100% sure that Noker is the correct spelling as the writing is not very clear. I can scan and email to anyone the certificates if they want to make out the correct spelling of the street. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Kathryn

red mail Frindsbury, Strood, Chatham, Sheerness
WICKHAM Thomas, and MEADS Mary were married in Strood, September 11 1803; on the same day their one known daughter Mary Ann was baptized. Perhaps the parson would not marry them unless they legitimised their daughter or they may not have been given time off to marry earlier. Interested for more family connections. Mary Ann in turn married in the next county of Frindsbury on July 20 1829. Her spouse was Samuel ALLEN born Rochester April 24 1802. Mary Ann died in Sheerness February 11 1899. they had ten children born in Chatham and Sheerness. Is there any one out there connected?
