Have found Victor G Carpenter believe b.1922 Kensington to Minnie Standing b.1885 Brighton marrying Olive M Parnell in 1946 Oct.-Dec.5B 1755. Are there any relatives out there? There are some Crane and Downer connections who would love to be in touch.
Looking for Sylvia GIBBS.
Sylvia was born on Jersey in the 1930s. Her mother was Ethel Louise Phyllis GIBBS nee SHUTE from Morecombelake, Dorset, who moved to Jersey in 1931. I think that Ethel and Sylvia returned to England after the war. Ethel died in the Thanet district in 1987. I would love to have more info.on what became of Sylvia. Thank you. Jenny

Walter James Thompson married Thirza Mahala Rete and they had three children - Wallace Arthur; Elsie May and Wilfred Douglas. Walter James ran the Cannon Inn in Ellington Place, Ramsgate between 1914 and 1930. Wallace Arthur ran the Shakespeare at 1 Margate Road for a number of years. Elsie May married Charles Keen and they lived at The Albert for several years. We have no knowledge of Wilfred Douglas. Please can anybody add information for us?

Does anyone recognise the name of John Litton Sparkes whose birth was registered in the Thanet area in the June 1/4 of 1838. (Quite possibly a fishing family originally from Brixham in Devon.) Probably a grandson of Elizabeth (Litton) & Thomas Sparkes married in Brixham 1797.

I am searching for information on the English ancestors of both John Bauchem Pettit born c1786(possibly Brighton, Sussex) and Rebecca Long born c1785 in Thanet Kent(to George(c1750) &Anne(nee Gifford c1755)), they married c1813in Thanet, Kent migrated to Western Australia with seven children(eighth born on voyage) on the ship "Gilmore" in 1829.I have a lot of Australian History but very little English.
