Small in Canterbury
I am researching my family roots in Canterbury. I have got back to a John Small who was a Licensed Victualler at the Prince of Orange at 12 Orange Street in the early 1800's. I have found a reference to 12 Orange Street being up for sale earlier this year. (Bairstowe Eves) it appears to be well hidden. It is being sold as a s/d house. Can anyone tell me if this was once a Public House, or has there been renumbering over the years. I have visited Orange Street earlier this year and was unable to find it, there seem to be gaps in the numbering. Any help appreciated.

red mail Andrews/Horton - Wincheap
Desperately trying to find a marriage for Ann Maria Horton (nee Andrews) who appears to have married a Robert Miller between 1855 and 1857. Her first husband George Horton died in 1855. She went on to have a daughter Catherine (b1857 in Deal) - father was a Cpl Robert Miller of 79th Foot Regt. I have a copy Birth Cert but can find no records of their marriage even though she is shown as Miller (nee Andrews) on the Birth Cert. Ann Maria had reverted to the name of Horton by the 1861 Census shown as a widow. All ties in with all other details that I have but this marriage is eluding me. If anybody has any connections at all and could assist I would be very grateful.

For some time I have been researching the site of Bridge House, Tylers Hill as it should be called, My Grandfather was domiciled there in the 30's, I have photo's of the outside and the inside when it was a public House, my thanks to Adrian Walsey. However I need to go back further on the site to when it was a Mill, known as Platts Mill, The Bridge House Pub was built on the site of the old mill, dated to about 1650ad I have an engraving of how it looked. My problem is , as to what the mill was austensibly used for ie:- its purpose, I am torn between two possible uses both plausable, the obvious is a corn mill the other and less obscure is a clay slurry mixer for tile production, the water and hence, the power was there and just over the hill and where the University now stands are the South facing slopes where the Tylers Kilns once stood. If anyone can help me in anyway with this aspect of Tylers Hill Research I would be most grateful Kind regards Dave

Seeking those researching the CONSTANT families from Canterbury, Kent 1750 onwards. Particularly interested to find descendents of Frederick Constant, born 1866 who married Eliza Margaret M Morgan in 1887. Other connected families are Benjamin Collins born 1848 in Bapchild, Jesse Constant born 1869, married Harriet Rayfield England in 1892, Doris Lilian Constant born 1906, she married Ernest Taylor. red mail Re: Lovelace's of Bethersen, Kent
Hello all, Anyone out there have pictures or information on Lovelace Manor of Bethersen, Kent, UK. This was the family home from 1300's to mid 1500's, is it still standing? I have a painting of a Castle ruins that my Grandmother told me was from the Lovelace's that was painted in the 1870's but it is not titled. The surnames listed are of the Grandmothers maiden names.
