Reseaching my maternal side of the family.All lived in the Brompton and Gillingham area in Kent. Names of interest- Eliz(s)a Ann Winn, married to John William Davis 1882 then Waterman before marrying William Cain -my maternal grandfather- in 1902 .William Cain lived at 25 Manor St, Brompton. My parents lodged with Elisa Winn's parents at 17 River Street, Brompton in 1931.My father served with the Royal Engineers at Brompton Barracks. Some of the Waterman family lived at 113 Cornwallis Ave, in Gillingham. Any help appreciated.W.R.

Anyone researching the Whitmore family, originally of Brompton? My maternal greatgreatgreatgrandfather was Richard, with wife Eleanor and daughter Frances born c.1824. Also their possible link to Thomas and Maria Whitmore, whose infant son, Richard Edward, died in 1839 at Mansion Court, Brompton. If anyone knows anything about the family or Mansion Court, I would be grateful to hear from him/her.

I am looking for information about Primrose Alice Edith Hayward (born 1898). They lived at Brompton, and the family had a long association with the Marines. Believed to have had a shop in Brompton. Also had a connection to a pub called The Steam Engine. Had brother Thomas and sister Ada. Later moved to Herne Bay (from where I know the story).

Tracing the family of John Richard Bishop who married Clara Blackman in 1879 in Holy Trinity Brompton. Clara died in 1888 leaving John to care for Alice Maude and Clara Letitia. The youngest daughter, Violet Mabel Bishop lived with William Hinchcliffe and Mary Jane (Bishop) Hinchcliffe. When John was widowed he returned to his parents and family, John and Ann Bishop and Alice and James. Any information appreciated. DE
