red mail Campbells From Kilmorack
I am trying to trace my Great Great Grandfathers birth. His name was Evander Campbell, he was born at Kilmorack around 1816, he had a brother Kenneth born around 1796. Their parents were Alexander Campbell a tailor and Ann Henderson. I have been searching in vain for any information on them, I really hope someone can help me. Irene
red mail William and Ann FRASER
William FRASER (weaver/farmer) and Ann FRASER (m.s. FRASER), Torgormack, Kilmorack were my x3 great grandparents. They had three children that I know of - Margaret b. abt. 1787, William b. abt. 1795 and Donald b. abt. 1803. I feel that there would have been other children between these but the OPR's for the parish of Kilmorack have very few entries from 1790 to 1804. If anyone has death records which show these parents I would really like to hear from them. Thanks, Shona
red mail Donald Campbell
Looking for info: He was the school teacher at Kilmorack Parish School for about 40 years. He died in about 1907. He had two sisters, Christina and Catherine. It is possible that he came from a larger family - any further information would be welcome.
red mail CAMERON John
John Cameron was born in Kilmorack in 1813 and his parents were Kenneth Cameron and Margaret McLeod. John married Isabella Dallas in Inverness in 1841. Further information about the family would be welcome.
red mail Strathglass families
I would be interested to make contact with anyone researching Chisholm, MacRae, MacDonald/MacDonell families in the Strathglass area late 18th to 19th centuries predominantly in the Kilmorack and Kiltarlity parishes. Cheers Alastair
red mail Missing Parish records?
From census records, I have found that Ann(e) MacDonald was born in Kilmorack abt 1824. However, searches in the parish record indexes show no birth records for any MacDonald families between about 1815 and 1840 in this parish. Neither are there any marriage records. Does anyone know if these records are missing, or were there no MacDonalds marrying or giving birth during that time in Kilmorack? Ann MacDonald married Alexander Ramsay from Boleskine abt 1844 and lived in Nairn until about 1865, later moving to Tain. I have lots of information about Ann and Alexander's descendants and Alexander's ancestors, (which I am very happy to share) but I know nothing about the MacDonald connection. Can you help with any details? Thanks in anticipation Jim
