red mail Mary Ann Grant
I am looking for information on Mary Ann Grant, born around 1858 in Grantown. She married Jason Henry Gosden, around 1886, probably in England, and appears in 1891 and on, censuses in Eastbourne. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.
red mail Daniel McKenzie
Daniel McKenzie was born near Grantown on Nov. 28, 1823. I have searched for 27 years and have never found his parents. He shows up in Dollar Clackmannon in 1848 as he married Catherine Stalker, on Nov. 11, 1848. They are the on the 1851 census living in Edinburgh. Children born in Scotland are Catherine b. 1848 d. 1848, Peter Stalker McKenzie b 1849, Mary Ann b 1851, David Stalker McKenzie b. 1853. He is listed on both documents as a coachman. They then came to Georgetown, Onterio, Canada about 1855/56. There they have John Stalker Mckenzie b 1856 and Dunan Stalker McKenzie b 1858, then they go to Detroit Michigan where daughter Catherine Stalker McKenzie is born 1863. Then down to Pulask Ill. where twins Daniel and William are born 1869. He died in Hutchinson, Kansas 3-27-1884. I have recently had a direct male descendant do a DNA test and it matches MacRae and not McKenzie. It leads to the line of Donald of Torlysh and have so far gotten to a Donald Macrae soldier who is supposed to have died in Edinbugh in 1812. I have been told by a DNA member match that he was married to a McKenzie and when she died she came home and thus the McKenzie name was carried on. If anyone is connected please would love to hear. Thank you in advance.
