red mail William Mcgillivary
I'm looking for additional information about William Mcgillivary who was born around 1773 in Daviot, Nairn. I'm looking for his father's and mother's names and if he had any siblings. I know he married Margaret and lived in Inverness. He was a farmer with 40 acres. His children were William, Donald, and Mary. Any help would be appreciated!
red mail Easter Urchill Inverness
Does anyone in the Inverness area know anything about a place called Easter Urchill where three of my ancestors were born and baptised (1831-1838)? As there does not seem to be a village of that name I am wondering if it may have been a farm. The information about them was recorded in the OPR of Daviot and Dunlichty.
red mail Mason
I am researching the Mason /Masson family. Donald Mason, a farm labourer at Daviot,Inverness, married Margaret Gray from Knockbain in 1830. Any information about the family would be appreciated.
red mail Duncan Bain and Duncan McGillivary
The BAIN siblings Alexander, (1814), Duncan (about 1821) and Ann (1823) were from Daviot, Parish of Dunlichity, Inverness. They immigrated to West Zorra Township, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada. Alex married Mary Colville, Duncan married Sybell or Isabella Ross. Their sister Mary BAIN was already married to Duncan MCGILLIVARY when they immigrated. There is another Bain family in West Zorra associated with the name FRASER but I have not been able to establish a connection.
