I am searching for the marriage of Thomas Warboys born c1817 and Elizabeth in or around Hitchin. First child born c1842 but neither she nor subsequent children found in census returns seem to have been registered. I believe that Thomas was the son of George Warboys and Charlotte(not known). George was born c1777 Aston and Charlotte c1785 Great Wymondley. I cannot find any records relating to this family other than census entries. Any help greatly appreciated

Tracing any information about Rev James Webb, born 1708 London who became a non conformist minister, was ordained at Hitchin Back Street Independent Church in 1738 and spent 20 years there as minister before being called to Fetter Lane independent Church 1758 to 1782. He was 30 years old when ordained and most likely married and had his family at Hitchin. One son was called James and he married Ann Milward.. date unknown.

I have found a marriage record in the Parish Records of a William marrying a Sarah Lane in 1814 in Hitchin but don't know if this is the one. He had at least 5 children, Eliza, the youngest, was my great great grandmother. The 1851 census says he was born in Hampshire ???? Any info gratefully received.

Interested in anything to do with the Butterfield family of Hitchin, who were mostly builders. My direct ancestor was Abraham Butterfield born 1786 married to Hester Palmer. I am fairly clear on his descendants but not so sure of his direct ancestors although i have followed a line back possibly to 1600 with a Benjamin. Anyone else out there have any firm facts?

She was a Martha Hobbs and married Robert Isitt on June 17 1832 in St Marys Church, Hitchin. 3 children Reuben George b June 02 1833 died June 29 1833. Ruth born July 25 1834 died November 1842 Robertborn July 08 1836 who settled in Sheppey Kent and m widow Harriett Ponsford (widow of George Loveday Sayer) Have not read or found a death or re-marriage of Martha. Her husband appeared I think in Kingston upon Hull and have followed his possiblelead there. Would like to find out what happened to Martha a pauper in 1851.
