red mail STEER & WYLIE
My great great parents are William STEER born c1820 place unknown, and Ann WYLIE born c1831 Baldock. They married in Baldock on 20 August 1856 and within a few years had moved to Hastings, Sussex. I have some information on the WYLIE's who came from the North of England, but very little on the STEER's, so any information would be welcomed. William STEER's father was also named William, and was a Painter & Glazier. I now know from a Y-DNA test that I am connected to a STEER family from Bletchingley, Surrey, and also to a John STEERE c1634, believed to be from Ockley, Surrey, who emigrated to Providence, Rhode Island. Any male STEER or variant spellings please consider a Y-DNA test. Thanks Stephen.
