Albert was killed in the Battle of Jutland. His father; George, was a soldier, and married Elizabeth Martha Clark. Laura Rebecca Pratts parents were Richmond Pratt and Laura Rebecca Clark. I am seeking any mention my Gt Grandfather John Holliness or that of his parents or siblings. Information I have indicates he was born in Lancashire c1825 and his father John was a butcher. Possible unknown variants of his name may be the reason I have been unable locate any mention of Johns family. Family lore suggest that my gt grandfather served as a guard at Stirling Castle, Scotland. At the time of his first wife Margarets death in May 1869 he was an assistant warden at the military prison at North Camp, Farnborough and when he married my gt grandmother Lillias Baseley (nee Gibson) of Stirling, Scotland in 1870 he was listed as warden. At the time of the 1871 census they were living in Tavistock, Devon and he was listed as a pensioner. John died in Nov. 1875 in Plymouth as a Army pensioner. When his daughter Mary, my grandmother, married she indicated that he had been a sgt- major in the Army Service Corps. Grateful for any Holliness family information.

My Grandfather was a coachman to a Captain who lived in what is now a School. Sadly I have lost the Family name of the house owners sent to me by a resident of the area. From 1888 when their twins Victor George and Gertrude Victoria were born they lived there until at least 1893 when their son,Hugh Kenneth was born. Between times,Elsie Rhoda and Arthur Edward were born. Arthur being my Father. I would like to find out when the family moved to PM and when they left. The Lucas family moved to PM from Dorset, in the area of Winterbourne Calne and seem to perhaps have returned there in 1896 or thereabouts. Any information of how the Lucii came to PM and why they left would be of interest

The marriage cert states that her father's name was Tom Kirby, deceased. Alice's year of birth should be 1877 as she is aged 26 on marriage cert. Her address at time of marriage was 5 Victoria Terrace, Broadlands Road, Portswood, Southampton. He was born in 1888 in Brighton, Sussex, and married Nina Hartie Apted in 1917 (he may have remarried after 1920). His next of kin in 1912 was listed as Chas. Lane of Petersfield, Hants. My great grand uncle Samuel John Clark ran the Chine Inn in Shanklin early 1900's. Previous to that the hotel was run by the Prouten family. John Prouten married Charlotte Rayner in Portsea in 1844.

Looking for info on Peter draper born in 1887 in basingstoke. I have the 1901 census that puts him in sherfield on loddon at that time with his parents mary(nee lovell) and david Draper, and sisters Jane (abt 1889) emily (abt1894) and dorothy (abt1898). His brothers were Charles(abt 1891)David J Draper (abt 1881) and Robert (abt 1886). After that the trail runs cold. Peter came to canada in 1910 and I know he married a Beatrice (dec 20 1888)(nee trotman) at some point. She died in 1919 giving birth to my grandmother in manitoba canada. Any info would be great. I am in canada and cannot access alot of the records I need to search in england.
