red mail Browns of Millbrook
Am trying to trace George Christopher BROWN, who was born in Millbrook, Hampshire around 1814-1822. At some time before 1843, he emigrated to either Australia or New Zealand. He married in Wellington, New Zealand in 1843 and travelled to Australia in about 1845. (He may have gone to Australia first, then returned after his marriage). George married Eliza BENTON At the time of his death George was a Shoemaker, but had several varied occupations before hand. is anyone looking for George?

red mail BIRD Family in Millbrook Hampshire circa 1870
John Bird and his wife Matilda E Bird were living in Millbrook in 1871. Their children were John Couger Bird, William C Bird, Laura Edith Bird, Charlotte E Bird, Frederick Bird, Elizabeth M Bird, Caroline Kate Bird, Thomas Albert Bird, and Albert R Bird. The 1881 Census lists two additional children - Charles Bird and Edwin Bird. I believe that several of these children went to live in Canada sponsored by Barnardos. Thomas Albert Bird was living in Middlesex, Ontario, Canada by 1884.

red mail Fox Family Of Millbrook, Hampshire
I am looking for anyone related to the Fox family of Millbrook Hampshire. The head of the Family was Charles Fox (born about 1806 in Lincolnshire) and his Wife Jane nee Rice (born about 1818 in Lincolnshire). I am unsure when they were married. I suspect Chalres may have died bewteen 1871 and 1881 as i cannot find a census record for him in the 1881 census. They had the following children Charles (born about 1940 - died 1890), John, Jane, James, Ann, Ellen, Martha and David. I am a descendant of their first child Charles James Fox who came to Australia on the ship the Essex in 1857. He travelled with a Walter fox who may have been a cousin although this is speculation. We have heard that the men in this family were of a military background however, i have not found any information to support this. Please get in touch if you think you may have some information.
Payne/Geappen of Millbrook Southampton
I am looking for any information about my gggrandmother, Ann Payne, formerly Geappen, born c 1819 in Millbrook - then a parish in South Stoneham but now a suburb of Southampton. Ann married John Payne, an iron foundry worker, sometime in the 1840s, though I have yet to find a BMD entry for this. The couple had 6 children that I know of, Charles, Elizabeth, Louisa, Jane, Mary/Pollie and Alice and moved to the Northam/St Mary's area of Southampton in the 1850s. From 2 of the children's birth certificates, I know that Ann's former name was Geappen, but can find no more information about her or her family apart from that. I'm not even sure if Geappen was her maiden name or if she was married before (John Payne would have been only 17 when Charles was born, so it is possible that Charles was Ann's son from a previous marriage/liaison.) Another Geappen (Elizabeth) was present at the death of John Payne's brother, Noah.
