Gertrude Samuels, originally from Bristol, lived in the Bournemouth area in 1948 where her son, Anton was born in January 1948 at 23 Knole Road and put up for adoption. She emigrated to Australia with her mother, Mabel Samuels, nee Deane in 1953. Trying to find out if she returned to England or stayed in Australia. I trying to find a lady who would I think be my second cousin. Linda would be about 60-61 or thereabouts. She was the only daughter of Harold and Averil Wilkinson. Harold was a well known figure in the local hotel business, he was a big jolly man, his mother Rachel Jones lived in Swansea South Wales but the family originated from Bradford in West Yorkshire but they also had links with Hull in East Yorkshire. Looking for descendants of John & Emma Fining, who lived in Aldershot barracks between 1890 - 1903. They had 5 children: Emma Jane 1897, John George 1898, Ethel 1900, Esther 1901, and Henry 1903. I have found that after John senior's death in 1903 Emma married again to Cyril Dominy in 1919 and that her children Esther and Henry both married in Bournemouth area in 1927. Their brother John George (b.1898) was in the 7th brigade Royal Horse Artillery and I believe he too married in Bournemouth area in 1925. John Fining senior was my great-grandfather's cousin; would love to find any descendants of this family and share information.

searching for information of my grandparents and g grandparents, Vincent William Adams born Bournemouth 1916 to John William Adams (builder) and Ann Miller (listed on death certificate).Vincent married Marjorie Bayliss (hairdresser) in Witney Eng, 1937, had two children Binnie in 1938 in Witney and Peter William in Aldershot in 1941, they moved to Farnham where Vincent was an aircraft engineer at a military base during the 2nd world war.. Seeking information on the James Harris family who lived at "Isca" 52 Princess Road Bournemouth in the 1880-1940 period. James Harris ( a retired builder) and his wife Elizabeth are listed in the 1891 census living there with their niece Bessie Harris. Bessie lived there until her death in the mid 1940s. The house was demolished and a block of flats replaced it. Any information on the family or "Isca"will be appreciated.

William Duff GIBBON (1837-1919) was a tea planter in Ceylon, originally from Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He left Ceylon in 1911 and retired to Bournemouth, England. He was knighted in 1912 for his 56 years developing the tea industry in Ceylon and for his services to the Legislative Council in Kandy, Ceylon. He died in Bournemouth in 1919. A Canadian biographer is seeking any background information on Sir William, especially his retirement years.

Looking for links to Rachel Jones the mother of Harold (Wilkinson?). He was married to a lady called Averill and they had one daughter. Harold was connected with the hotel trade. Rachel was my father's sister she lived in Gelli Street Swansea, she was married to a Bill Jones but I don't know whether he was Harold's father. Rachel was born in Bradford West Yorkshire in the late 1890's to Tom and Alice (nee Myers) Wilkinson. Rachel died in 1968 but I visited Harold and his family once in Bournmouth around 1972 and the last time I saw them was at my father's funeral in July 1975.
Spry-Hume also presented as Hume-Spry. Late Senior Officer in my Grand-fathers old regiment. Died 1930's aged 63 years. Would love to make contact with a family member related to this man.
