She was the sister of Harriet Elbro b abt 1811 in Stow-on-the-Wold, and their father was Thomas Elbro. I should be grateful for any further information about this family.

Thomas Griffiths married Sarah Withers on 12 December 1762 in Stone Gloucestershire. They had four children William (1764) Ann (1768) Elizabeth (1770) and Jonathan (1773-1839). Thomas died in 1782 and Sarah in 1783. I am descended from Jonathan who was sentenced to seven years transportation to Australia for stealing. He arrived in Sydney on the Scarborough which formed part of the Second Fleet on 28 June 1790. I am looking for any information about parents or siblings of Thomas and Sarah. Alsoany information on descendants of William, Ann and Elizabeth.

He had a son called Arthur Gilbert Greenland who married Helen Kingston who came from a village near Marshfield in gloucestershire near Bath. They had lots of children called Arthur, Clyde, Gladys, Robert, Doris, and Maurice. They all lost touch because of the death of the father Arthur and the following abandoning of some of the children by the mother Helen. Richard Darke married Mary Drinkwater 24 March 1705 in the town of Whaddon, Gloucestershire. It is said the couple had 11 children, although I have only managed to trace 6 to date, namely Richard (1708), Mary (1710), Elizabeth (1713), William (1717),Anne (1718) and Henry (1721), all christened in St Michael's Church, Gloucester City. It is claimed that Richard (snr) was made a freeman of the City of Gloucester in 1702, while his son Henry, joined the freemen of Gloucester City in 1747, and married firstly 20 April 1748 to Edith, daughter of Thomas Dawes of Bulley. Their son Henry Darke married Mary Hannis of Upton St Leonards on 26 July 1772 in that village, and their daughter Sarah was christened 23 March 1778 at St Michaels, Gloucester.Sarah Darke later marries Andrew Snowden in Parramatta, NSW, Australia in 1813, where her family remains today, and throughout New Zealand. Henry Darke (snr) marries secondly Jane Noakes on 11 June 1858. As per the Drinkwater connection: Richard Drinkwater marries Mary in 1683 in Gloucester, and dies in 1743. My paternal grandfather was Tom Coates Nicholls b1886. HIs father was also Tom Coates NIcholls born abt 1843, married to Mary Ann Cook born 1843, all Framilode/Saul, Wheatenhurst area. The men were all mariners. I have found lots of Nicholls and Cooks but am finding it difficult to place them. Mary Ann Cook and Tom had several children including Frederick George Nicholls, Mabel Ann, Elizabeth Coates Nicholls. The name Coates Nicholls keeps popping up so I think they will be all the same family. There's a Dinah Coates Nicholls, a William Coates. Can anyone help with either the COOKS or the Nicholls. It seems that the long gone Junction Inn, Saul, was started up as a beerhouse in the late 1840's by widow Nancy Davis. She married Sandford bridgekeeper Isaac Boulton ( Boughton) my ggg grandfather in 1854 when aged about 70 & they ran the Inn together.After Isaac's death in 1865 his sister in law Mary joined Nancy for a few years. Nancy died in 1872 aged 87.Later history is readily available but I have been unable to find any pictures of the Inn of any period up until it closed in 1968. Can anyone help?

Seeking information about my grandparents, Mark & Florence Bloomfield (nee Manders)who were married in Willersey in 1902, and moved to Australia in 1909. Mark (born 13/11/1876)worked at the steelworks in Birmingham, and later at Cadburys Bournvill. Mark 's father was Jobe ? Bloomfield, (his mother died when he was young)and he had a step-brother Jim, who also moved to Australia sometime after 1910? His whereabouts was never known, although we believe he lived in Sydney.NSW. Florence Mander's (b.27/1/1881)father was the village baker, and she had a sister Nell (Hensley), who lived at Hopefield in Willersey,plus others, including a brother who moved to Vancouver Canada.Another brother was decorated in one of the wars.
