Does anybody know whether there were any major illnesses in Winchcombe around 1788? I have both father and son, both named Robert Craduck, who seemingly died within a year of each other. The father was only in his 20's so I am curious of the cause. any other news of Winchcombe Craducks (Cradocks) gratefully received.
Gretton viillage near Winchcombe
Does anyone, anywhere have information about a cottage in Gretton in the parish of Winchcombe "...situate at The Green, Gretton..." it had land and an orchard. Names associated with it between 1842 and 1926 are: Giles Carter;John Foort;Dennis Trenfield; Richard Greening (Yeoman);John Foort;Emmanuel Humphris (Timber Dealer); Mary Ann Humphris; Eliza Dance (died 17 March 1926);Mr A.W. Harvey (perhaps a solicitor?)Eliza Dance had five children.

Hi. I am look for any info on this family. I have Thomas b 1649 in Winchcombe, who marry Elizabeth Jackson 29 Sep 1679. I think his father was also called Thomas b 1622 -1675, I believe his wife was called Ann whom d 1671. They are the start of my Martin tree and can trace them too my grt gr ma in Buckinghamshire.

Does anyone have information for the parents of Absalom Greening, born about 1835 in Winchcombe? He married Ann Harding in 23 Jan 1856 at Woolwich parish church and he became a professional soldier (a gunner) with the Royal Artillery. What I am seeking is a copy of the parish register for his baptism and confirmation of his parents. I think his father was William but have no clue as to mother. Any help much appreciated as I cannot get from Lancashire to local record repository to search for myself. I am more than willing to reimburse anyone willing to look up and copy documents on my behalf. Thanks in advance Howard

Trying to trace any information about the BRYDGES family, owners of Sudeley Castle in the mid 1500's. In particular RICHARD BRIDGES ESQ. born about 1532 son of JOHN BRYDGES 1491-1557 (1st Baron Chandos) and ELIZABETH GREY 1491-1559. I am researching The Soden Family, there was a Mother & Father (who I think might have been a Doctor)they had 4 sons, one of whom was I.S.Soden, dont know what the others were called, all 4 sons were lost during WW11, Ian was a Hurricane pilot and was credited with 5 kills and shared a kill with another pilot, he was eventaully awarded the DSO, he is buried in France, as to what happened to the rest of the boys I dont know, I do know that the mother moved down to Bath after the war, she is presumably buried there as she must have passed away in the 1950/1960's. I am researching my family tree and have found the marriage of Thomas to Ann Maria Staite in 1825. The Stait family is large but Maria's father was Thomas Staite and her mother Esther(formerly Brown). Thomas Phillips was born in Winchcomb in 1801. His parents were John and Ann. Maria was born in 1804 in Winchcomb. They had 7 chidren recorded in the census, Robert,Rosa, Emma,Thomas,Fanny, Matthias,and Nathaniel. My PROBABLE Great Great Great Grandfather, John PORTER, MAY have been the son of JOHNand ELIZABETH PORTER, who was baptised, on 4 March 1787, at DIDBROOK Parish Church, Gloucestershire. Sarah Humphris was probably the (Spurious) Daughter of ANN HUMPHRIS of GRETTON, Gloucestershire, who was BAPTISED, on 23 October 1803, at WINCHCOMBEParish Church, Gloucestershire. My PROBABLE Great Great Great Grandmother, Ann HUMPHRIS, MAY have been the Daughter of JOHN and ELIZABETH HUMPHRIS (Possibly nee SAMPSON), who was baptised, on 23 July 1780, at WITHINGTON Parish Church, Gloucestershire. I would be interested in any information to confirm, or otherwise, these possible Ancestors of mine. Particularly, from any other possible Descendants of these people.
