FOX and VERNEY families
I am researching the Fox and Verney families in Stow-on-the-Wold in the 19th century and earlier. I am specifically looking for relatives of Mary Fox (1847-1930) and vet William H A Verney (1835-1894) who had an illegitimate son William Henry Fox in 1885. I have tentatively traced the Verney line to the Berkshire villages of Wantage and Stanford-in-the-Vale; whilst the Fox line remains in Stow and Lower Swell, marrying into the Bayliss, Greenwood, Cornbill, Archer, Corbett and Hitchcock families.

They had a son Robert born/christened 1806 and another son Charles christened/born 1808. Robert is supposedly ggreat grandfather who had a son Albert born 1838 in Sydney,Australia. But the funny thing is Charles accompanied Robert;s wife Mary to Sydney,Australia in 1837. Robert married Mary in Feb 1837 in Devon, we do not know why Charles accompanied Mary out here. We are trying to find out if Robert died, or was already married, or did something crominal, so could not come himself.
