red mail Mary Ann Beard (Jones) of Olveston - The Church Lane Ghost 1867
Mary Ann Beard (1831-1883) widow of Charles Thomas Beard and daughter of John Jones, potato dealer of Olveston, wrote a poem "The Church Lane Ghost" set in Church Lane, Rudgeway, Olveston. It was printed in Bristol (1867), presumably for distribution to family and friends, and is now very hard to find. However a 2012 Kindle edition is available with the title "Mary Ann Beard's The Church Lane Ghost".

Dyer family originally of Olveston, Glos or Tockington
Tracing family members of William Dyer living in Olveston or Tockington, Gloucs area in early 1800's. His son John Obed Dyer moved to London / Fulham / Chelsea, with wife Eliza in 1850's. Their daughter Elizabeth Sarah married James Charles Hunt in 1869 and carried on in printing trade, starting up James Hunt Ltd. John is noted as printer employing 2 men and 3 boys, a methodist preacher and an undertaker! Any details on Dyer and Hunt very much appreciated

searching for details of William Bishop born around 1795 in Olveston.He was a smith/farrier and married Ann ? from Tytherington.They had at least 2 children ,William,who also became a farrier and Mary Ann both according to the 1851 born in Tytherington.By the 1851 census they were living in Easton in Bristol,anyone looking for the same family?

1851 census shows George Ingram of Alveston married to Charlotte of Olveston. Does anyone have information before this date? I believe Charlotte lived with one of her yonger daughters (Mary Lodge) at the end of her days in York Street, Bristol.(1891Census)
