red mail Price and Bowyer
Researching the family of Frederick Price (born 1826 in Longcott, Berks) who lived in Lechlade from 1840's to his death about 1888. His father was John Short Price and mother Ann Ward. Married Caroline Cambray in Lower Swell, 1851. Also researching Bowyer - Daniel Bowyer was the long-term landlord of the Trout Inn until his death circa 1919.
red mail Lechlade - information on John Raven
I am seeking further information on John Raven, who died and was buried in Lechlade c. 1824/5. His wife was Sarah (possibly Rymer) although I have no evidence of this, and one of their daughters Sarah Elizabeth was my g-g-grandmother. I suspect there was a relationship (but again no proof other than that he was an executor of the will of my g-grandfather Walter Matthews)with John Wilkin Ebenezer Raven, a Gloucester bank manager. Any info would be welcome.
red mail Charles Clack b1796 d1847 Lechlade/Swindon
I have an ancestor Charles Clack born in 1796 presumably Lechlade. I have traced his parents Philip Clack b 1768 and Ann Stroud b 1768. I have their marriage 23 June 1793 Wantage but cannot find anymore information about Philip Clack. Charles was baptised in 23 June 1836 at the Newport Street Independent Church Swindon. Please can anybody help with anymore information? I would dearly love to find out where Charles was born as I do not believe he was born in Lechlade.
red mail John Godwin of Lechlade
I am seeking early information on John Godwin, born in Lechlade around 1833, father also John. He could be the John mentioned in the 1851 census living as a servant at Clay Hill Farm. He moved to Cold Ash in Berkshire and married Sarah King in 1857, after which he is fairly well documented. Any information on himself or his ancestry would help to break a brick wall that has dogged research for many years.
