He left Bristol for Romford in Essex and married Charlotte DOCKRILL from Woodford Bridge, Essex, in 1828 at Havering, Essex. They lived in or near Romford/Hornchurch, Essex where they married and had at least 6 children 5 of which were born in Romford and 1 in Wolverhampton (then Staffordshire). William HALL was a Tin Plate Worker. The family lived and worked in Birmingham from at least 1851 onward. I would like to hear from anyone with knowledge of his family in Bristol or Essex. My gtgt/gfather, JOHN WAKEFIELD was born abt 1812 in St George Bristol. In 1831 he was part of the 10,000 strong political riot of Bristol, and subsequently earned 7 years in Australia. UK and Aust penal records do not name his parents, but there are a family of Wakefields found in St George in the 1851, 1881, and 1891 census's. It is possible that John's mother was Charlotte 1773, with brothers William 1789, Henry 1808, Isaac 1809, George 1823. Those names appear on the St George census and are duplicated in John's sons in Australia. I would be glad to hear from anyone linking into that family, or able to assist. regards, Len

My Great Grandfather was Charles COLE b. about 1875 in (?), it is said he was born in a workhouse, so he could have been born anywhere as he never spoke of it. Frampton Cotterell. My g-grandfather Joab Lewis arrived in Australia during the gold rush days to Melbourne, Victoria about 1855. His wife was Annie Bradshaw. My grandfather Thomas Lewis was born in 1857 in Melbourne. Joab has been very elusive and any help in tracking him down would be appreciated.

I am looking for descendants of HENRY STAMP born 1867 in Bath. He Married Mary Butcher of Twerton in St. Peter's Twerton in 1896. Henry(a Carpenter),and moved to Bristol. My great-grandma gave her name as Mary Malan when she married and said on census forms that she was born in Bristol c.1851. Her surname undergoes various transformations since she was unable to write. In the 1901 census her 'brother' John Gleeson (!) is staying with her, also born in Bristol and then aged 39. Any possible links sought.
